The camera on the back of the phone doesn't work, there is something covering the camera (not the slide cover)
the front cam works fine, but the rear camera is blocked by the black thing. has anyone had this problem or know how to get it off the cam?

its a software problem reinstall the software it works [or] in the camera option change the settings to activate when the phone cover opens the camera.

after installing this software connect your phone with your pc or laptop and run the Nokia Software Updater after doing this your phones takes 5 to 10 minutes to update in between this process dont touch your phone , one more thing plzzz check the battery of your phone is charged
Have you already tried sliding the front cover? I have an a4tech cam also but the model is different. For it to work, I need to slide down the cover so that the camera itself would be revealed.
I have the same problem and i know what it is. There is a little tiny switch and it turns on Camera when u slide cover down and it is broken. You should take your phone to repair or buy spare part https://www.oemcellphoneparts.com/products/Nokia-6110-LB-Flex-Assembly.html and fix it yourself.
try this remove the back cover of the n73 and when u remove it u will see 2 small golden slim kinda plastic chip clean that and clean the 2 small golden antena's that looks like 2 small very small sticks clean it when ur done put back the cover restart ur phone w8 for ur phone to wake up slide the cover to open the camera and check it out it worked for mine too if it dosent work something's wrong with the 2 small antena's if u cant solv that problem go back to the same shop u bought ur phone and tell them to check it out if they cant find out tell them u want a nother nokian73 and try it out then thats it! :P
HI. 1ST U OPEN THE BACK COVER AND REMOVE THE BATTRY > NOW OPEN THE SCREW > PULL THE BACK COVER VERY CAREFULLY PULL UR MOBILE PCB VERY CAREFULLY AND REMOVE THE STRIP CONNECTOR SAME PROCEDURE FOR FRONT SIDE WHEN BOTH SIDES R OPEN THEN CLOSE SLID AND PULL THE STRIP FROM MOBILE'S SLIDE. THEN NEW STRIP ENTER THE SLID AND FLOWS THE SAME PROCEDURE IN REVERS CONDITION. NOTE -(WHEN U PULLED THE STRIP THEN MIND IT WHICH SIDE IS DISPLAY SIDE OR WHICH SIDE IS PCB SIDE.
