My treadmill shuts off after about 8 minutes of use

Here are some possible causes and solutions:

Overheating: If the motor or electronics of the treadmill get too hot, the machine may shut down to prevent damage. Make sure that the treadmill is placed in a well-ventilated area and that the air filters are clean. You can also try lubricating the walking belt to reduce friction.

Faulty speed sensor: If the speed sensor is malfunctioning, it may cause the treadmill to shut down. You can try cleaning the speed sensor with a soft cloth and see if that helps .

Worn walking belt: If the walking belt is worn or damaged, it may cause the treadmill to shut down. You can try replacing the walking belt and see if that helps.

Electrical issues: If there are any electrical issues with the treadmill, it may cause the machine to shut down. You can try resetting the circuit breaker or unplugging the treadmill for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.

If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact Proform customer service.

Sounds like a motor or electrical system cooling problem. Could be dirt or blocked motor. Try Computer air blast can and or a vacuum to clean out motor and electronics.

Did u find out the problem? Mine just started doing the same thing.

see the video attached. lube the deck belt and rollers bearing . You must do it every 150 miles. If the problem persist time to replace the old board deck.

If the console takes batteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not require batteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console

If you have a carpet under the treadmill it gets warm and it switchs off!

I have the same problem, it developed in the past few days. I've written to Kettler for assistance but not received a reply yet.

try lubricating the running belt. Any decent sized fitness store should have a lubrication kit. Also, make sure the machine is plugged into a dedicated circuit. Meaning, there are no other devices on the same circuit as the treadmill. Not just the same outlet, but the entire circuit of the room you have the treadmill in. You also want to make sure it's not on any extension cords. Plug it into a surge protector (power bar with a cord less than 6') and then directly into the wall. Those are the 3 main culprits why treadmills shut down after a short period of time.

using my tread on level 3 for 30 minutes and it shut off at 25 minutes what this?

my wife has a proform 490gs that keeps shutting off after about 40 minutes by tripping the breaker. what is causing this.
