The audio jack green piece broke off in the green audio jack in the back of the computer. i have other audio jacks but am not receiving any sound what should i do really need sound

Hello,

Depending on your Sound Card in your computer and depending on your driver you've installed you could configure that audio-output (normally green jack) is changed to the Blue jack.

You could try to change the audio config from 'Stereo' to 4.1 or 5.1.

My System does not play sounds

Do you see the sound plugs on back of your pc? If you have those on back of your pc near the keyboard, mouse or video plugs, then you have onboard sound & it should be enabled in your pc's Setup. Look in Device Manager (right click My Computer, select Properties, then hardware) to see if the audio hardware is listed. If so, does it show it's working properly or needs a driver? If it's there and shows to be working properly, look in the Control Panel for the Sounds icon & see if it's been disabled. Make sure your speakers are plugged in the correct plug & are good.
If you see the audio plugs in back of your pc
& no audio device is listed in Device Manager, the audio might be disabled in your
machine's Bios Setup. If it is, then enable it.
Windows should install it then next time it
starts.

My pc no sound but there an icon of audio.

Its quite possible that you have more than one audio output device. Integrated and Non-integrated. 1, make sure audio plug is plugged into the right sound device and port 2, If you updated your sound card or any recent updates from mircrosoft its possible the new drivers will make it seem to work but really they don't. go to start, right click on Computer, go to properties, and then look for the advanced tab (xp), or device manager to the left (vista+ users) go to sound, video and game controllers. right click on the sound device and go to properties, click on driver tab, then roll back drivers. if it says there are no drivers to roll back to.. try the other device if theres 2 audio devices and try to roll back that one.

VAIO VGN-NR120E/S PC Notebook: no sound at all...

The Audio Driver in the computer might have uninstalled accidently or corrupted or missing.

Re-installing the Audio Driver should bring the sound back. Please download the Audio Driver and install it in the Computer to fix the sound issue.

Download the Audio Driver.

Download the file to a folder in the Computer. After that, please open the folder where the file is downloaded, after that double click the file to begin the intallation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process. After installing the Driver, restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.
This should bring the sound back.

Good luck...!

I have a Gateway DX4300 and want to use my LED TV with surround sound on a receiver as the monitor. No HDMI slot on computer so I have Y-connector in headphone jack on front of box and I plan to connect...

Open your sound contol monitor (the speaker icon in the system tray) and makes sure there are no checks in the boxes for audio output. Also make certain the audio out device is set to your sound device. eg "realtek HD Audio" or whatever your PC sound card is. Make certain the slider buttons are about half way up for the Audio output. If your sound card is installed ok. your sound should now work.

Where do I plug in my new Technika speakers into on my Packard Bell desktop P.C.? there is only one cable (green) that will either fit into the back of the monitor (green audio jack) or only one green...

Ok, your speakers need to plug into the audio in jack on your pc, this is usualy found on the back of the motherboard. Like you said it will most probably be a green jack Most of the time its round the back of the pc. Its a good idea to have an audio file or something playing while you set this up so you can see if you get any sound.

Do you have sound on your pc normally? As it may be that your sound settings are not correct in windows
Go to the "control panel" and click sounds and audio devices
A menu will appear click the tab that says "audio"
Now look for the dropdown box under "sound playback" it should have something in it if its empty or says none click it and select something
Its also important to check the volume, do this by clicking on the volume button on the same page
make sure the faders are up
Realise it might be a bit complicated if you are new to pc's
any problems email me [email protected]

The reason there is also a jack on your monitor is so that if you wish you can connect the "audio out" on your pc's motherboard to the "audio in" of your monitor and have sound come out your monitors inbuilt speakers
