Oven too hot and uneven heat

I have a premier 20" range EAK10M0P1
It is less than 2 years old. Recently, we are having troubles mantaining the oven temperature which gets way toooo hot. It doesn't seem to be regulating itself. I have made sure the vent hole is clear. I make sure not to turn to broil. I set it at 350 and it was at 500 when I turned it off. The on indicator light is also not working tho it works when I turn on the stove top burner.

We had the same trouble with our electric range a few years ago. We had the thermostat replaced and it has worked great ever since. Douglas

How do I adjust the oven thernostat on a Premier Pro series gas range, it is only heats to 350 when set to 550

  1. Turn off the oven and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
  2. Locate the thermostat dial inside the oven.
  3. Using a small screwdriver, turn the thermostat dial to the desired temperature setting (e.g. 550°F).
  4. Plug in the oven and turn it on.
  5. Allow the oven to preheat to the set temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Place an oven thermometer in the center of the oven to verify the actual temperature.
  7. If the oven temperature is still not correct, repeat steps 2-6, adjusting the thermostat dial as necessary.
It's important to note that some models may require a professional to calibrate the oven thermostat,

I have a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range Model 790.9750. It's just 2 years old. It has been burning food only in the middle of the left side of the upper oven. Nothing cooks correctly because that

Check your door seal by doing a paper-pull test. If the paper pulls out easily on one side and not the other, then you found your problem. You might be able to "tweak" the door, but be careful - if you twist the door too much, you could break the glass. The other (and safer) solution is to replace the door seal. Another thing that could cause uneaven heating would be an element that has a "hot spot", but this is rare. Finally, if the insulation of the oven cavity was done improperly at the factory, that could also cuase uneven heating, but this is even rarer than an element with a hot spot. In all my 9 years of servicing ranges, I only encounter this cause 1 time. Ussually it's a damaged or compressed door seal.

It is not good to do the self clean. The electronics take a beating. Probably the ignitor went out. The oven gets too hot.

I need to remove the oven element. the plate that holds it appears to be riveted in place not screwed, unless screws are just worn (17 year old premier chef coordinate series).

These are screws you see. They are oxidized and the slots in the head are probably gone. Best approach is to spray with Pam (or equivalent) cooking oil, then use vise grips to remove the screws.

Oven won't heat up at all.

broiler on top of oven?? if so it might have a second ignitor that is working. Most units now with gas have an electric ignitor to start gas ovens. What they do is send electric current through an electric "wire", when enough current is flowing through wire to open gas valve the wire is hot enough to ignite the gas flowing over it. When you turn on the oven look at the burner and after 1 imute or so you should be able to see an Orange glow in bottom of oven if not I'm sure its the ignitor, if glows then probably oven valve is bad. I'd guess ignitor because most oven makers use this ignitor to mantain a warming temp (around 100 degree's) so since your display doesnt register over inital "start" temp of 75, i'd bet ingitor not coming on at all
