according to the user manual the dehumidifier will not stop running for the following 5 reasons:

• Windows or doors near dehumidifier are open to outdoors.
• Area to be dehumidified is too large.
• Air movement through dehumidifier is blocked.
• Dehumidifier has been installed or restarted recently.
• Dehumidifier is in the CONTINUOUS mode.

If you reconnect the drain hose, make sure that it lays flat from the dehumidifier and into the sump pump hole. I did that and it solved my problem of water leaking onto the floor.

I understand that the blower wheel is not spinning on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504DUD. I also see that the compressor will stay on unless the dehumidifier is unplugged. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can possibly clarify why the compressor stays on and why the blower fan is not working. If not, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction of having your dehumidifier working. Hope this is helpful.

Gregory, the problem may lie in where you have the humidity extraction level set. It may be set to high. Try lowering it to 32 -35%. If your unit does not have an LED Screen, turn the manual control to Maximum. Also, check the bucket to make sure it's installed properly and making contact with the bucket removal safety switch. When reinstalling the bucket, be sure that it fit's "squarely" from top to bottom into the bucket holder. Also, check the air intake filter. It may need serious cleaning.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

There is a switch that is activated when you slide the tank back into the unit after you empty it. If the tank is not in just right it will not activate this swith. You might look for it and try pressing it with your finger to see if it is working. Not sure about your model but be careful not to shock youself! The switch should be insulated and is really just an interlocked relay...
