The movie froze midway thru film and now the Zenith DVD player froze.Won't even turn off or on or open or close.Can't return the film.

Open it up (take the screws out) and see if one of the door tracks came out. Just snap it back in place.

It can only be repaired by the repair shop I think your son broke a lug on the inside it may need a new tray?

SOURCE: Wharfedale DVD- 265 saying invalid disc

Check and see if there is dust or dirt or something on the lens. Dirt, grease and fingerprints will cause a DVD player to have read errors.
If it a new player, or under warranty, get it replaced. It sounds like it is failing.

SOURCE: The door to the dvd player is stuck partway open

the gears on the drawer skipped a few teeth. as crazy as this sounds, give it a stern whack back in. if the plastic teeth are flexible enough to skip teeth one way, it'll be flexible enough to skip some the other way.

we want so many things to repair it.so the better way is to go to a servicing center

If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.

A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.

It sounds like you jammed the door gear which must be closed prior to playback. You can try to take the cover off again and cycle the insert mechanism but if you put much force on it the machine may be destroyed...

Hi, it sounds like either the eject button on the DVD player drawer has been damaged or the remote is in need of cleaning (I assume the remote to have an eject button too). you can remove the remote by removing a battery and seeing if the problem stops.
Best you remove the tape from the DVD drawer as this will not stop the DVD mechanism from trying to open the tray, bit like trying to constantly push against a locked door - you will cause damage if it hasn't already.

Dvd stopped playing in the middle of a movie...
I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Unfortunately, if the player will no longer read any commercial dvd that you attempt to play, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. Hopefully, since it's brand new, you still have the receipt and can return it to the retailer for an exchange or refund. The unit has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. You would need the receipt in order to receive a warranty exchange.

Movie is playing, but will dont display on screen
Try increasing the contrast. If that doesn't work, then make sure your input is on the correct setting. Press the input button and wait for a picture to load (about 5 seconds each) while trying to play a DVD. Also, make sure that the backlight is enabled. If you take it out into the sunlight and you are able to see a faint image of the movie on the screen, then you need to turn your backlight on. Most likely an option in the main menu, but it may also be caused by a broken sensor that senses when the player is closed and turns the backlight off, but also turns it back on when the player is opened.

CD STUCK IN CD PLAYER AND CAN'T EVEN SHUT OFF THE PLAYER
use a pin to open it the drive will have a whole near the shutter or over the LED then inser the pin or needle in the hole and press it will open the tray garb the cd fron the tray and press it to close. next time it will be fine.
you dont even need to power on the PC to do that.

DVD player froze, now only turns off
Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.

Zenith dvd recorder/vcr
could be a small belt thats keeping the draw from opening or a power supply problem Or maybe even a fault in the slider assy that has the laser on it as if it doesent return to the "home" postions nothing else will work. Good luck
