If the dish is a 1000.2 or 1000.4, these satellites are designed for MPEG 4 receivers (VIP 211) and will work fine with these dishes. The 1000 or 1000+ dishes require certain LNBs and/or switches to work properly - the LNBs will control how many receiver and satellites are included with the installation. I hope this helps.
It should as long as it is pointed to the correct orbital locations,
Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. To answer your question, yes the ViP211 will work with a dish 500. It will receive the standard channels as you asked, but if you wish to get HD, the dish on your home will need to be upgraded. Hope this helps!
Hi orly227217 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network customer service. And when the receiver is not accepting commands from the remote we need to re-program the remote to the receiver. What we do first is go to the VIP 211 and select the "system info" button and then we want to press the "menu" button. Then you will see the remote address in the white box at the bottom of the screen, then press and release sat button 1 time then press the record button 1 time. After that you will have seen the remote address change.
