DISH Network ViP 211 DTV Receiver Questions & Answers
My receiver (new) will not turn on? Is there a reset button?
There isn't a reset on these receivers.
If it doesn't show a power light on it, then try disconnecting the power for 30s.
If still no power light
- check the outlet it's connected to
- disconnect all cables from the back of the receiver but power and try again.
- connect the receiver to a different outlet (still with nothing else connected)
if you still don't get a power light on it then the receiver is dead.
Receiver goes off and screen turns green

After 10 seconds please plug the receiver back in, allow it to power back on by itself, it will acquire signal and download the guide. If issue persists and you currently have the receiver's power cord connected to a surge protector, please by pass the surge protector and connect the cord directly to a wall outlet. Got a new hd reciever. can't get hd channels
First make sure your receiver is connected with one of the following.. HDMI (one cord resembling a usb cord but shaped on the ends a little diffrent) or Component wires (this cable is made of 5 wires red and white for sound and red, blue, green for picture) these are the only two ways your receiver will deliver true HD.. Once you've verified that your receiver is connected with one of those methods if you are still not receiving your HD channels you must call your cable provider and tell them there is a code missing from your account.. The cable system has codes that interact with your equipment that tells your receiver what you are allowed or paying to watch in your case the code for HD is missing.. Remember a normal coaxial cable will not deliver true HD from your receiver to your tv. Although that cable does bring the signal to your receiver. There's a good video that can teach you a lot about how this stuff works, might be worth looking into.

How do u change the time on the receiver? mine is 1hr behind the actual time. thanks
Brian,I would be happy to help with this. There isn't a specific way to manually update the receiver time. If you just moved service to a new location, the receiver will update automatically. If you're still showing the time off by an hour, let me know and I would be happy to try some steps with you on this.Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative
