Kelvinator or (Speed Queen Top Load washing machine)

We have replaced the belt on this machine because the technician said it needed replacing, but now the machine stops ans starts taking forever to complete the spin cycle. It is as if there is a cutout switch, when it starts again you hear a quite loud click, then the machine will spin for just a few seconds and then stop.

I have a Speed Queen AWM373W top loader with the same problem. We recently had the kit and belt replaced because it was leaking water. That is fixed now but it takes forever. The other night I tutned the drum by hand and it worked fine. Did not had the same problem since but I am watching it.

You probably have the wrong belt, and its to small? Go to repairclinic.com or google Kelvinator parts. Order the correct belt.

Is the drive belt in good condition?
Does the machine spin dry?
Is there water leaking from the bottom?
I suggest the gearbox needs to be replaced. Another sign is if the machine is noisy when it is washing (agitating)

Motor get hot and stop this is maytag name but as speed queen iner part
First check the drive belts for wear and replace them if necessary. It is important that the belts have neither too little nor too much grip. If they are fine,then check the bearings of the motor and the drum. Lastly check the motor, it may need to be replaced.

I have a top loading Speed Queen. The drive belt broke and I need to replace it. How do I remove the outer metal cover to get to the working parts
there are 2 5/16 screws located at the bottom of the front panel. Remove the screws and pull the front panel away from the machine on the bottom.

You have to remove the entire motor/pump assembly. Two screws in the front, and two on the rear of the metal mount bracket. There are 3 screws holding the pump on you can get to once it is removed.

Will not start washing process
Is the belt broke?

If not, will it spin it you put it in spin mode?

If it spins, but not agitates, the transmission is locked up in agitation and needs replaced. This is a major undertaking.

I need to fit a new v-belt to my top loader speed queen. Ho do I get the belt over the motor pulley?
If it has the pump on the bottom of the motor, you have to remove that first. There is either (3) T25 screws holding it on, or 3 clips.

I always replace the pump when I do the belt.
