Gas oven/broiler won't light

HI,

If neither the bake nor the broiler heating elements heat, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)", push the knob in and try the baking and broiling elements again. If it still does not operate properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring.

If the oven does not have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem may be with the thermostat. But it's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

The oven function (broil, bake, etc) knob does not light

Open high limit or bad relay most likely.
The relays are located on the back side.
The limit I am not sure where it is stashed.

Re: my whirlpool digital oven

The red key sign is a lock against children. To cancel it you have to hold the two buttons at the same time for 5 seconds (you activate it the same way).

The STOP sign appears after the cooker switches of after a power cut. You just have to press the left button, and, using the right knob, set the time.

Tappan double oven

I have the digital timer oven and also cannot find the manual. You have to set the bake time timer, I think for 3 hours. Then you set the oven knob on clean and turn on the temp knob, probably to full but I don't think it matters. When you engage the lock, the clean light should come on/ When the oven reaches high temp, the lock light will also be on.
