I tried to change the setting on climate control drawer and made fan to start. I heard the noise every time it started and yes it felt like something was touching the fan. I will check out the assembly as you mentioned.

    thanks a lot,
    Sudesh

I have the same problem with the fan in the top of the unit behind the compressor. When it turns on, it sounds as if something is touching it which causes a knocking sound. But by looking at it nothing is hitting the fan. Do I need to replace the fan? If so, how?

I called GE for same issue of noise from compressor compartment. It was nothing but a pipe was touching the compressor. This is drain pine behind compressor coming from ice dispenser. just reach incise and try to move it. It was a child's play.

IS THE NOISE SOMETHING HITTING THE FAN BLADE?
CHECK THE FAN ASSEMBLY BY REMOVING THE BACK PANEL IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT.

NORMAL NOISES IN THE UNIT ARE A GURGLING NOISE OR THE SOUND OF RUNNING WATER OR HISSING. THIS IS DUE TO THE FREON BEING PUSHED THROUGH THE SYSTEM AS THE COMPRESSOR RUNS. POPPING OR SNAPPING CAN OCCUR WHEN THE COILS IN THE FREEZER MOVE DUE TO A CHANGE OF TEMPERATURE.

GE monogram refrigerator climate control drawer is not sealing and won't work properly causing fridge to go crazy!

Question edited for spelling.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to GE Refrigerator.

You need a service call to replace the sealing gasket. The whining is probably the fan at the back of the drawer. If the knocking is the compressor, the fridge likely needs a refrigeration gas top up.

My GE climate control drawer always has water in the pan . I wipe it out and when I return there is always water on the bottom.

Hi,

Which model do you have? Its easier to tell you when I can get the information of the unit. I can guess, obstructed drain to the evaporator in the fresh food section, or a leaking water tank, but not sure as all units are not built the same. Thanks

Monogram DISP480DXASS jack hammer noise behind the Climate Control Drawer.

By the way you discribe it, it sounds like it's going into defrost mode check and make sure freezer side isn't iced over or that the drain isn't iced over if it's a side by side drain should be at the very bottom of freezer side usually hidden behind a piece of plastic if it's a top and bottom the drain will in the freezer very back bottom also hidden hope this helps

GE monogram buildin refrigerator - climate control drawer cannot hold the temperature as set for meat. It always shows at 47F.

sounds like the damper door down there is not opening also the fan down may not be coming on to bring temp down to 32.

Ge monogram zfsb23d howls

Usually you will get a sort of whinning/screeching noise from the fans inside the fridge/frezzer when they are not working properly but you can also get that howling noise from the fan which cools the compressor for the fridge/frezzer which is usually found underneath the Unit. All you have to do is find exactly where the noise is coming from and remember unless you have a dog that likes to lock itself in the fridge for a joke then most noises that come from fridge/frezzers are only made from the moving mechanical parts and sometimes leaking refridgerants but not often.
