Watch indicated "low battery" Jeweler replaced the battery but the watch did not respond and remains blank. The watch goes through 2 to 3 batteries per year and light remains on too long and cannot be turned off.

Hi

Try resetting it - it worked for me. First, orient your watch face down (with the watch belt buckle opposite you), the new battery in and latched. Second, on the right side battery hold-down latch you will see a small metal circle (~1 mm diameter) with a black dot in the center. Take a small paper clip and touch this metal pad to the metal battery hold-down latch for about 1 second. This will reset the watch.
Rotate the tiny donut that clips over the battery so it touches the brass spring that is next to the battery, replace the back plate. you can use a small tool to carefully lift the metal contact back up off the contact plate. Also make sure the back of the case is on tight as this also plays a role the electro mechanics of this watch.

I have a sweda watch with no battery. The only identification is that the front says "Lifeline". Can you "best guess" at a compatible battery?

I can't find much on the watch. Sweda is one company, and Lifeline is another.

Look inside the watch and look for an engraved number near the battery socket. If nothing there, a local jeweler will have a battery that fits the space. Voltage is 1.55 volts, silver oxide are best.

My Casio Gw-300 G- Shock watch face intermittently goes blank altogether. Immediately prior, the solar battery shows a full charge, (in addition, the back-light battery is less than a year old). When the...

From your description the solar cell charges the battery and keeps it topped up. I think the rechargeable battery is the problem because when the screen goes blank the battery level drops to low and the LCD blanks out which would explain the intermittent operation of the watch. I think it is worth getting it checked out with an estimate.

Casio g-shock protection model blank face after new battery installed by a jeweler

What kind of battery did they put in it?? G shocks are powered by a rechargeable solar battery!!! Should not have been replaced unless it was the same type of battery. I would be going back to jeweler and asking them to send your watch to Casio and they pay for the new solar battery. Let me know what happens.

The second hand on my versace watch moves every 5 seconds, instead of every second.could this just be a low battery or something more serious? 63QC A370173 is the number on the back of the watch case

It sounds like the battery low you suggested.

Take the watch to a Versace service center ( there can be difficulties if you try to replace it yourself or get a local jeweler to replace the battery- it is a comon complaint that watches fail after battery renewal!).

My solar powered 50-lap Ironman died after 1 month of normal use! Now it just stares blankly at me until I press any of the buttons, in which case it goes back to 12:00 and works for a couple of minutes...

I have exactly the same problem with my solar powered Casio watch.
I discussed it with a good jeweler and he explained that when you have sun, the watch 's battery will be charged up. But when the battery's charge is used up it works off a capacitor power source. But if the capacitor is defective(no available backup power) you then end up with a blank display. And it'll display the default settings(12:00) for a while only.
You can have a jeweler change the capacitor to get it working again.
For my $100+ watch, it'll cost me about $25 to replace the capacitor.
But for yours, the watch may not have cost that much and therefore
be hard to justify that cost.
I hope the explanation was not too technical for you. Good Luck.

When I press light buttopn in the middle the display goes blank

This sounds like a simple battery replacement. Depending on how low the battery is usually pressing the light button and the display goes dim or blank is a good indicator of this. Takes a CR1616 battery and be careful of the spring inside and make sure the seal is in the correct position. You will need to touch the AC button and the back of the battery with a pair tweezers for a couple of seconds to reset the watch. Put the case back on and set the watch thru the functions.
