I had a stereo in my car before, a really old sony. so when I put this one in, it was already wired to fit the new one and i just plugged it straight in. It worked fine, up until about 2 weeks ago. I hadnt driven the car from about a month until 2 weeks ago and i realized the stereo wouldnt turn on. When i hold the reset button i can hear sometihng winding up or something but theres no display. Though somehow the display came on for about 20 seconds yesterday and then shut off again. The fuze is fine, ive tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battry, I really dont know what the issue is.

remove 1 spark plug wire from the plug. Find a socket that fits the spark plug and connect it to the socket wrench. Put the socket on the spark plug and turn counter clock wise until the old spark plug is removed. Check the gap on the new replacement plug ( make sure you have the correct plug first). Put the new spark plug into the hole that the old 1 came out of and turn clockwise by hand making sure it is in straight, then tighten it clockwise until tight.( WARNING: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE PLUG OR YOU WILL BREAK IT). replace the spark plug wire. repeat the process with the other 3 spark plugs. Start the vehicle. If you are replacing the wires, take off 1 wire at a time, match up the size and replace the old with the new.
Go to the auto parts store and get a wire adaptor made for a 1992 trueno. It will plug into your factory harness. The wire colors are prematched to your sony and other aftermarket stereos. Just match the wire colors, splice with connectors making sure no wires are exposed. (A little electrical tape for good measure around splices helps). Then it just plugs in. If your factory stereo has mounts that screw onto the radio, unscrew them and attach them to the sony. Remove sleeve from radio and discard. The screw holes are already on the sony.
Well you can please follow the below steps - 1. Disconnect your car battery. It is vitally important to your safety that you never work on any type of electronic in your car with the battery still connected, as this puts you at risk for electrocution. 2. Remove the old stereo by taking off all the dashboard panels surrounding your stereo, sliding out your old stereo head unit, and unplugging all the wires that are connected to the head unit. Discard the old stereo. 3. Take your Pioneer car stereo head unit and plug each of the positive wires from your car speakers to the positive terminals on the head unit. Take all of the negative speaker wires and connect them to the negative terminals on the head unit. 4. Attach the stereo's black ground wire to a metal bolt or screw located near where the stereo is mounted in the dash. 5. Connect all of the ignition power wires to your Pioneer stereo. 6. Take the harness connector and plug it into your car stereo. Now plug the antenna into the back of your head unit. 7. Slide the stereo back into the dash, screw it in place, and replace the dashboard pieces you removed earlier. 8. Reconnect your car battery, turn the car on and test out your new Pioneer car stereo. You'll an stereo install kit. I comes with the surround for the new stereo to fit into, and that will fit into the space for the stereo in the dash, this kit will also have a connector to wire the new stereo to, and plug into the stock stereo plugs.
Go to walmart, they'll probably have the plug that fits your car. If they don't an auto parts store will. The new connection will plug right into your car's plug but you'll have to splice the wires to connect it to your stereo unit. All you'll have to do tho is match colors. The wires that come out of the new connection you bought, and the wires coming from the stereo unit will match, just connect color to color and you're all set. note: you won't use all the wires coming from the connection. hope this helps
your problem is an accessory (red) wire, it needs to be hooked up to a 12 volt alternating current, something that turns on and off with the key, the yellow wire on the other hand needs to be hooked up to something that has constant 12v power.
If you purchased your new stereo out-of -the -box factory fresh, then it should have a plug set which plugs into the back of the new stereo. If your old car stereo plug is still connected to the all the wires(that is the plug that the car radio plugs into), then -
The easy way to hook up new stereo to old connector is buy an adapter plug that will match the old plug with the new plug. You will have to connect the wires from the new plug to the old plug ,but that is easy because both plugs have the same color wires.
Go to ' installer .com' and you should be able to find the right plug. Hope this helps...
Look for a second power wire that needs to be hooked up. There is one wire that is switched (runs from the ignition) and another that is direct from the battery. You can test for this with a light or a meter. Typically the always hot wire will include an in-line fuse to prevent fires in the event of a short... Hope this helps...;-)
