Vertical 5" wide dark band in middle of screen

A 5" wide dark band in the middle of a Samsung Smart Series 7 TV screen could be caused by several issues. Here are a few potential causes and solutions:
  1. Faulty LCD Panel: If the LCD panel is damaged, it may cause a dark band in the middle of the screen. Unfortunately, a damaged LCD panel usually requires a professional repair or replacement, which can be expensive.
  2. Loose or Damaged Connection: A loose or damaged connection between the TV's internal components could cause a dark band on the screen. Check all of the cables and connections between the TV and any external devices to ensure they are properly connected and undamaged.
  3. Picture Settings: The dark band could be caused by the TV's picture settings. Try adjusting the picture settings to see if it improves the image. For example, you could try adjusting the brightness, contrast, or sharpness.
  4. Software Update: A software issue could cause a dark band on the screen. Check if there is a software update available for your TV and install it if necessary.
  5. Magnetic Interference: If there is a strong magnetic field near the TV, it could cause a dark band on the screen. Try moving any magnets or magnetic devices away from the TV to see if it improves the image.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact a professional TV repair technician who can diagnose and fix the issue. They can ensure that the repair is done correctly and safely, and can help prevent further damage to the TV.

I have a Samsung PN51D440A5D TV and it was hit on the screen by a flying Wii controller. There is no damage to screen, but now I am able to turn on TV, red light comes on and the only other thing that

Well it does sound like something is amiss. It may not show on the screen, but something isn't right. Unless you're comfortable diagnosing and repairing live electronics on the bench then I suggest you take it to a repair shop.

Will replacing the inner screen of my lcd tv fix the damage done by wii remote? outer screen is not damaged

You need a replacement panel. Most people will not even bother as the cost of a replacement panel could easily exceed the value of the TV

We just purchased a 50" PLasma Samsung Flat Screen TV withing the last month. As my husband was hanging something it fell on it and cracked the screen. We still get a picture but it has a circle about...

It a lost cause can't repair Screen panels, only replaced them. The screen panels are limited produced by the tvs industries. They're the only place u can buy it from, they'll charge the screen panels same as a new tv.Sorry ur tv it not worth as a whole tv anymore, only as salvage electronic circuit boards for parts now. This is a new tv right, call Samsung, talk to them, buy a new tv directly from them. They'll give u some credits for the returning the damage tv unit with a screen panel damage to them.

I hit the screen with the wii remote. its damaged

It is obvious that the screen is cracked and must be replaced. There are a few problems in doing that. First, it is NEVER covered b warranty. Second, the LCD panel likely cost at least double the price you paid for the TV, if it is even available. Many are not available. Time to shop for another set. Sorry; John

I have a samsung hd lcd tv. When it's turned on it looks cracked.

There are no settings that could produce that result.

On most LCD TVs there is a LCD controller board that controls the vertical/horizontal display output. It sounds like your LCD controller has failed.

When you say 'appears to be cracked'...you mean it is actually physically cracked? That is a different issue altogether. I would say 99.9% of screen fractures are due to rough handling or a stray impact with a Wii controller, but rarely screens can fracture due to manufacturing defect or a sudden change in temperature or altitude.

Dropped and screen looks cracked in side

Unfortantely, It is cracked inside. The set may have been damaged in shipping, or if you have kids, playing the Wii got a little out of control. There is a thin layer of glass infront of the LCD to difuse the image to get a smooth image; and the glass lens is bonded to the LCD panel. Unfortantely, the only people who can repair that is an authorized service center or Samsung.

Samsung 40"

Without a model number I gather the TV she threw the remote at is a LCD tv? If so look at replacing the set as the LCD panel is now damaged and usually cost more that what a replacement set will. There is no fixing a damaged LCD panel.
