Should the unit be recharged at some point? I don't think my a/c is blowing very cold air, just cool.

Sometimes they leak and need to be recharged. There are other things to check first. #1 being filters. Then make sure your coils are clean, inside coil and outside coil. If all is well then you will have to get someone to check the system pressures to determine if it needs to be charged.

How do i get my soleus air conding unit to blow cold air, its blowing cool air. can i recharge this unit myself -if so then what type of freon would i use.

most likely have to install a line tap valve to charge. look for oil residue on lines to indicate leak. the evaporator is the weak point on most a/c systems.

Can a fedders air conditioner A7Y15F2A-E be recharged?

Hello, anytime the unit does not blow out cool air I like to start with checking the airflow, check the filter and the evaporator coil for a buildup of dirt. If that check out ok then either the unit has a refrigerant leak or the compressor is not operating if the compressor is running than the unit is low on refrigersnt and can be recharged. In order to recharge the unit a piercing valve must be installed on the low side of the system, most window units do not have valves so one must be added to be able to charge the unit.

This portable air conditioner is not blowing cold air, mildly cool at best, the filter is clean coils in ok /cleaned shape duct to window in great shape no tears... what can I do? also can these be...

I think you are on the right track , it sounds low on charge. It can be recharged but almost every unit that is portable requires a licensed person to do the repairs because you have to cut into the lines and add access valves then evacuate the system then recharge it. This can be at a high cost too.Good luck

Window unit comfort aire rad 121 e wont get cool. fan works, everything works, just wont blow cold air. can system be recharged like a car?

actually it can be charged like a car "if" it has charging ports which it won't have unless someone has installed them - which would only of happened if the unit had a leak previously. So, to answer your question a window unit can be charged like a car but it's a little more complicated than charging a car and I would think you'd need a serviceperson to do this.
Also, if you don't have charging ports already installed on the unit - the chances that you have a leak is not very strong. These are 'sealed' units and really do not spring leaks very often.
I would be more inclined to think you had an electrical problem, i.e. wire burnt off compressor terminal or something like that instead of leak.
Sometimes you can save a lot of money and time - by getting a qualified serviceperson involved.

2000 jetta doesn't blow cool or cold air out,of the a/c.

yes, after 9 years it needs to be recharged. Have a shop with a good reputation do it. Dont go cheap. It should hooked up to a machine so you can see how much leaked out,and test for leaks. shouldnt be more than $100

Problem with GE Zoneline 5200 model

Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!
