Not unless it is plugged in with a charger. That only works if the power supply is routed through the battery. It should work though.

Its not for your model but should be close enough.
I am presuming that your laptop is OUT of warranty and you have a good idea of what you are doing?
Ensure you have an ESD strap on when touching components.
