If the server is under warranty then it will be best to call dell, else if you r aware with details of harddisk u can purchase from any store. If u are not aware of how to install it by self, best call dell or service engineer. the capacity the server can support is large you can go for 500GB harddisks

Call Dell with your Service Tag.
Lifetime support is included on all Dell servers.
Last time I called them I dialed (800) 945-3355
They can sell you the hardware you need and guarantee it will work with your server. They might even be able to help explain the process of installing the drives.

I recommend that you use Acronis' Imaging software (www.acronis.com) so that you can make an exact copy of your data and apply it to the replacement volumes. If you are using a RAID1 array make sure the new array is completely built before applying your image. Builds can take a long time. I created a RAID1 array with 2-320GB disks and it took 3.5 hours to build the RAID1 array.

I hope this helps.

Please vote for my solution if it helps.

Dell PowerEdge 1400SC Can not locate hard drives or partition

The controller (probably a RAID controller) that the drives are connected to is one for which Windows does not have the correct drivers. You need to supply the proper driver and .INF files during the initial load. The process used depends on the version of Windows you are installing.

HDD replacement for Toshiba Satellite M35X-S114

should be no problem adding a larger hard drive....If I were you I'd compare some prices of Hard drives and choose the one thats suits best...you're not restricted to toshiba hard drives either....advantages of installing a larger hard drive really relate to what you use the laptop for....if you store lots of music or have lots of big programs then a larger hard drive makes sense....also you'll find it easier to get a 60gig hard drive than a 40gig as that size of drive is quite rare nowadays

Poweredge 2600

A larger drive should auto-configure just fine keep in mind that you may not get access to the full drive depending on how you have it all setup. In any case if there are any problems with the auto-configure you should be able to easily go into the RAID manager and tell it what you want to do with the drive.
