Sir, i have downloaded window xp quick fix plus as instructed by you, but the problem still stands unsolved. My desktop is COMPAQ PRESARIO 1620 INI5370DCX. I have lost the service cd, so i am unable to format the system. I checked compaq sites and could not locate this model. How would i can format this system, pls help me.

You can format it by inserting the Windows XP CD and install a new XP OS on the machine and you can also format it externally. I am not sure what it is that you want to achieve ...is the Hard Disk damaged?

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads as required.

Make sure that XP is supported!

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

Windows xp is not install.install name is hidden. model no. c570ea(compaq).

Is it Windows Xp with SP2? Better you have to use Windows XP sp2 with bootable cd. for that you have to select first boot as your CD rom. and then try. it will work 100% sure.
