ICE-O-MATIC ICEU220HA2 bridge too thick. Is the time delay relay the "finnish" relay that adjusts bridge thickness? If so, I'm not getting any change in thickness with time adjustment. If the time delay relay was defective the bridge would be thinner not thicker?

The bridge thickness on this model starts with the low pressure cut-in control that then in turn starts the timer. To start with if you have a low pressure gauge that you trust what I do is take all of the time off of the timer and unplug the water pump. Then start the unit and watch the low pressure gauge to see at what pressure the harvest starts. an ICEU220 with R-404A should cut in at 45psi. Once that is set plug the water pump in again, put about 400 seconds on the timer, see how thick the ice is after 2 cycles and adjust as needed.

How do I adjust bridge thickness on ice o matic

Adjust the Timed freeze. The freeze timer is an adjustable timer used to control the ice bridge thickness. The freeze timer is factory set but may need to be adjusted upon initial start up of the machine. When time is added to the freeze timer the length of the freeze cycle is increased, therefore the ice bridge thickness is increased. When time is removed from the timer, the freeze is shorted and the ice bridge thickness is decreased. The freeze timer can be adjusted by sliding one or more switches to either the ON or OFF position to 1/8'' ( 3mm ). If bridge is too thick remove enough time from the timer to achieve proper thickness. If bridge is to thine add enough time to timer to achieve proper thickness.
NOTE: The freeze timer on ECP models is located on the circuit board. It operates and is adjusted as described above. Now if you have had this machine for awhile and it was making the right bridge thickness and is now making thinner ice i would look at the purge valve to make sure it is not letting water seep out of the sump tray during freeze cycle this will cause the sump tray to keep filling up with water and will cause thin ice.

I have a ice-o-matic 400ha2 ice machine that is not making much ice and is to thick. the timer has been replaced, but no change

reduce the thickness thermostat that initiates the timer to minimum, then increase until good ice made.

Ice o matic troubleshooting

If you have tried to take some time off of the freeze timer and bridge thickness is still to thick then depending on model.
1. Replace freeze timer.
2. Some models the timer is on the control board if so then you will need to replace the board.

Ice bridge to thick

there is a timer, adjusted by seconds, first make sure the condenser coil located under the ice bin is clean. the harvest is initiated by suction pressure once the pressure switch makes contact the time delay will time out initiating the harvest. you can fine tune the bridge with the time delay.

Ice to thick

your machine should have a bridge thickness of 1/8 of an inch. you can go to the freeze timer and take some time out to shorten the freeze cycle buy sliding the switches to on and off. example if switch is set to on at 18 then you wont to turn that switch to off and turn the next lowest number switch to on until you achieve the right thickness of ice. if this dose not work then replace freeze timer.

Does not go into harvest

There are two relays in the control box. One or both are brbably burned and will need to be replaced.

ICEU150 bridge thickness time delay to 1 second and the bridge thickness is still to thick

The bridge thickness on this model starts with the low pressure cut-in control that then in turn starts the timer. It sounds like you have either a bad low pressure control or one that has been tinkered with. To start with if you have a low pressure gauge that you trust what I do is take all of the time off of the timer and unplug the water pump. Then start the unit and watch the low pressure gauge to see at what pressure the harvest starts. an ICEU150 with R-404A should cut in at 44psi. Once that is set plug the water pump in again, put about 400 seconds on the timer, see how thick the ice is after 2 cycles and adjust as needed.
