When I try n open a session on cubase le4 I get a warning saying the vst system has too many errors and the session never opens... what could it b?

Sounds like you have a corrupt auto load. You need to recreate your default song (the blank one that opens when you load). that should cure your problem.

Good luck

Have you clicked the little "monitor" icon (looks like a speaker) on the armed audio track so that it goes orange? Once on, you should see a signal on the VU meter (assuming the line in has a good signal etc). Once recorded, turn the monitor off again to listen to the track with all the others.

Recording on cubase le4 using my tascam us122 mk2

You're probably not recording through your tascam interface. Go to control panel -> sound, and then select the us122 as your default sound device. Close cubase and open it again. Then go to devices -> device setup, and then under your asio drivers, select asio us122. That should solve it

144 drops out

To see if it's your hardware, up your latency settings to "highest" via the tascam control panel. Also, be sure you are familiar with the various ways to up latency in your recording package: in cubase it's under device settings, vst bay. If this works, you know it's some setting somewhere. Try disabling your internet connections and setting pc performance to "background services" Also, read a pc optimization guide for daws - they are everywhere. Tascam will email one to you if you ask.

Lastly - try the asio4all driver. This fixed my pops, but when I understood all the various latency settings and set the tascam to highest latency, I could use the tascam driver. Highest latency on my p4 3.0 2gb ram pc means 12ms input and my output is 61ms.

If the asio4all driver works - it's a likely latency issue.

Tascam us 144 sync problems with cubase le

Hey lea,

i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?

i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.
