I have an apple laptop, how do I transfer from my camcorder to a dvd on my apple.

You do not need drivers to get the footage from tape to a Mac. You do require a firewire cable and use iMovie or Final Cut to capture.

Hi i have an everio gz-mg 135 and when i connect it to my pc to back up files the message "usb device not recognised. One of the usb devices attached has malfunctioned. Windows does not recognise...

Hi,
- Make sure you have been installed JVC driver on your PC - If your PC has multi ports USB, just try other ports to make connection - check your firewire, it may be malfunctioned . Try other USB cables

Can I use a usb cable to charge my jvc everio camcorder

As long as you have a USB port and there is 4 AA or AAA batteries then you should be able to. USB is 5 volts DC and 4 batteries are 1.2 volts each and 4 equal 4.8 volts DC.

Describe your Sony BRAND DCR-DVD 602E " PAL " Camcorder Problem - How do you connect the camera to PC. I only have an AV cable with my camera? Can I purchase a USB cable, and where will it...

if you want to connect it a PC you need a video capture device to make use of the s-video and the sound but the video quality is limited to s-video only unless you want to make it as a webcam sort-of. If you want store the video in a computer you can copy the DVD content of the CD into your computer's hard disk.

CAMCORDER AND WEATHER I CAN CONNECT A DV CABLE TO IT

Unfortunately the camcorder dosn't have a DV (firewire) port to allow you to do this only USB. To burn a disc you would need to go to your computer or purchase a dvd burner.

How to make a camcorder with a webcam

You will need:

A Camcorder (Firewire or Analog)
A Firewire Card (For Firewire Camcorder)
A Video Capture Card or TV Tuner (For an Analog Camcorder)

A way to connect the Camcorder to the corresponding cards.

The Eagletron TrackerCam Software.
Go to trackerCamhttp://www.trackercam.com/TCamWeb/download.htm
to download it, it is a free download. You need additional hardware to get full use of the software, but for a basic webcam this software is enough.Active WebCam captures images up to 30 frames per second from any video device including USB, analog cameras, TV-boards, camcorders, and from network IP cameras.

The program performs simultaneous recording and broadcasting from unlimited number of cameras.

WebcamDV allows you to have "the best quality webcam in the world:"

If you own a DV camcorder, or are about to buy one, wouldn't it be cool if you could use all its features by making it the world's best web cam? WebCamDV is a utility which runs in conjunction with your webcam software application. It lets your digital video camera with all its expensive features, act like a webcam! Imagine, a webcam with 600X zoom, auto focus, stereo sound, auto stabilizing, night vision, high quality optics, and more, depending on your camcorder.

DVDriver lets you iuse your camcorder as if it were a regular webcam:

DVdriver is a software tool that lets you use your camcorder with any software that works with webcams. It works by fooling Windows into thinking that your camcorder is just an ordinary USB webcam.

Use your camcorder with the full range of webcam software available today. Just plug your camcorder into your PC's Firewire port, run DVdriver and start the software you want to use.

What software do you use to turn your camcorder into a webcam?

Canon zr500

The ZR500 has a firewire port that is best for tranferring video to your pc, so a firewire cable would be needed -- and you would need a firewire card in your pc to accept it. It might also have a USB port (don't have it in front of me right now). I've never used USB to transfer video, but I think it would work fine.

JVC Everio GZ-MC275AA

Video streaming is possible with DV camcorders thanks to the Firewire port (IEEE1394), which works very much like a digital video in/out connection. Basically, the camera just sends video, and if there's a computer attached, it receives the video and decides what to do with it on a computer.

USB doesn't work that way, normally. Most tapeless camcorders automatically set up the webcam as a storage device, which is a very distinct thing from a video streaming device.  A storage device is just a disc of some kind... it will show up under some letter (eg, K:) in Windows, when you attach the camcorder.

Some USB camcorders allow for a "webcam" or "streaming" mode... I didn't find any specifics on your JVC, but I know some of the Panasonics support this. There are two ways. One is that, if you have the camera in record/standby mode, it may just go automatically into webcam mode when you attach USB.

The other way is that the camera will have something in the menus, like "Live mode" or "Webcam mode" that instructs it to configure USB for video streaming rather than storage-class attachement.

And of course, some of the tapeless camcorders have a Firewire port, just like a DV camcorder, which is there specifically to allow for streaming video, etc. You could use your camcorder as a web camera over Firewire, given the proper software... though you might find that's just as expensive as buying
a webcam.

And given the price of actual webcams, I would consider buying one
rather than adding wear and tear to my camcorders, just based on
price. This is the same  reason I have a DV tape rewind device.. $20 device, $2000
camcorder... easy math.

I need a way to hook the camcorder to PC

If you will look at the front of the camera (where the lens is), you will see a gray door that opens. If you will look in there you will find: USB port, AV outlet and external microphone jack.
Hope that help you out...
