I have a HDMI problem with my PS3. I have it currently hooked up to an RCA SRS (Wow) 1080p Full HDTV. The PS3 has worked fine on my TV since I purchased my PS3 in late November. I have taken the PS3 to a friend's house, who does not have an HDTV and switched from HDMI to AV just fine with no problems; and then back to my RCA with no problems. However, after bringing my PS3 home from my friends this time, and hooking it up to MY RCA HDTV, my TV nor the PS3 can recognize my HDMI cord. So, I've tried a list of solutions:
1) I tried resetting the PS3 using the display settinga feature while both HDMI and AV cables were plugged in.
2) I tried resetting the PS3 manually (holding down the power button and waiting for the two beeps) while the HDMI cable was plugged in.
3) I've bought a new HDMI cable (still nothing)
What to do?!

You will need to turn on the PS3 and hook it up with rca so you can access the console menus. Turn it on and get to the main dashboard. 1. Go to Settings -> Display Settings (not video) 2. Select [ Video Output Settings ] 3. Select HDMI 4. Select Resolution 5. Select Screen Size 6. Save the settings 7. Reboot the console. This should resolve the problem. We've seen PS3 consoles that would not reset by performing a hard reset. We were able to resolve this issue through the settings menu though. Let me know if it is still giving you issues.Hank GATpro Repairs
