Ignition stays constantly on, How to fix it or shut it off

My cooktop is ~9 years old. Today the 4 electric ignition went off for no apparent reasons. It has been on for 4 hours with the annoying clicking sound. I cannot find a electric swith for the cooktop itself. And I cannot turn the main switch off because I need to keep my refrig on.
Any suggestions?
THanks,

Its a gas cooktop it has to be plugged in somewhere op e the cabinet and unplug it. possible that the electrodes got wet and click from a false sense of continuity, after being unplugged overnight that will sometimes be enough. you also might have a bad start switch on one of hte burners causing the machine to click automatically. try unplugging over night first

Large burner elements ignite, and igniter spark fails to stop, then the burner shuts off as if ignition failed. Tiny central burner element does NOT light at any time. Apparently the safety cutoff...

There is a thermistor that must be in the flame area that needs to get hot. When hot it will turn the igniter off and keep the flame on. Check it's location and if it is in the flame then it needs to be replaced. not sure about the central flame problem. could be the switch.

My GE Profile JPG636 cooktop has an ignitor problem. It clicks constantly, and all the ignitors on all 5 burners are 'going off'. It happens every 8 or 10 seconds whether we're cooking or not. If anyone...

The most common cause for this issue is from liquid getting into the ignition system for the range. If someone has spilled water or other liquids into the burner knobs or the ignition system it will cause an electrical short in the system causing the igniters to come on constantly when the knobs are off. The fix to this is to unplug the range and wait 24 hours for the liquids to dry up. You can speed up this process with a hair dryer pointed at the burner stems(knobs removed). Once the liquids have dried up the problem should stop. I would not leave it plugged in until then because the ignition system could be damaged from the constant sparking.

Not working although power supply is on

Very likely your power supply is faulty. With 220 volts both legs must have power for the burners, but the fan will run on only one leg. Hope this helps!

Igniter issue for monogram gas cooktop

Be sure all caps are on correctly, then make sure the igniter is clean. Try using a tooth brush with soft scrub around the igniter, rinse, dry and try it

Wolf range cooktop

I just installed a Wolf gas cooktop and had the same problem in that all 4 burners would light just fine but the electronic igniters would not stop clicking on all four. What I found was that the electrical outlet that my gas cooktop was plugged into had the polarity reversed. I tested the outlet with a polarity testing module (you can get one at Home Depot and it checks polarity, grounding, GFI and is handy to have around, small and inexpensive). I plugged it in and the lights told me that the polarity was reversed. I reversed the wires in the outlet (exchanged the white and black wires) put the cover back on, plugged in the cook top and now it works like a champ! no more constant clicking. By the way, we had a cooktop before this one with electronic ignition and never had a problem, apparently it didn't care about the polarity.

Cooktop's electronic igniter started clicking all by itself

Check to make sure your burner caps are aligned. I had this problem, and it turned out one of my burner caps was slightly askew. Putting it level fixed the problem.
