Acer Aspire One error when trying to connect to internet: iexplore.exe - Ordinal Not Found The ordinal 650 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll. Sometimes the number (650) is different. It will be 450, 309, etc. All of my other programs work just fine. I've tried to do a system restore back to the date before this happened and it won't allow me to. Any suggestions?

Internet Explorer is not even in my list of programs. So I cannot uninstall it. How is that possible? I clicked on properties and immediately got a similar error message. And without being able to connect to the internet, how can I install another browser?

Thank you for responding. Computers are just not my forte'.

1. Install another browser: For e.g. FLOCK
2. Are you able to browse?

If so then we have isolated the problem to Internet Explorer:

1. Which version of IE are you using?

Either way:
1. uninstall it completely
2. Download and reinstall the latest version of IE

And just in case please do a VIRUS SCAN:
1. DiskClean up of C drive (always do this before a virus scan)
2. Total Virus Scan of Hard Disk (make sure Virus application is updated first)

About System Restore:
Windows does not allow you do to a restore from before it happened because it did not save any restore date from prior to (perhaps system restore is not enabled so be sure to double check this); therefore:

1. You're going to have to try to fix this isolated problem manually

OR

2. RESTORE to factory settings: take all ur data off and restore to factory settings and then put ur data back thereafter.

    About Uninstalling:
    1. If u cannot see IE in windows for uninstall (which shows corruption on your operating system)
    2. In Windows, Do a search for 'Internet Explorer' and delete e'thing u see.
    3. Restart windows and THEN empty the recycle bin.

    NEW BROWSER
But Flock is a really great browser and I highly recommend it because it lets you browse and manage your social network profiles and web based email accounts from one place. It's based on the Mozilla Engine that Netscape and FireFox use. I gave up IE a long time ago.

    Get Flock Here

Forget IE, especially if it is giving u issues. But the fact that you have so many issues with the browser, shows me that you have virus like activity on the system. So I hope you do a virus scan also

Your initial post indicated corruption with IE and therefore I approached it from that angle. FYI: Whether or not you are actually ONLINE, IE will still be corrupt - based on your initial post.

Ok let's see if u have an Internet Connection

Click on 'Start' and then 'Run'

Type in 'CMD' and then press 'Enter'

This takes you to the COMMAND PROMPT

DO a PING TEST (see image): type in 'ping google.com' (without the quotes)

If you are getting data packets sent to, received by google and sent back from google then you have Internet connectivity
    -----
If you are NOT then you have an Internet Connectivity problem and it means that you need to double check your Internet Connectivity. Please clarify this for me:

How do you connect to the Internet?

        By Cable?

        Wirelessly?

The ordinal 120 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll

iertutil.dll is a dynamic link library used by Internet Explorer. Ordinal 120 refers to something inside the dynamic link library. These errors typically occur when the file is corrupt or there is a version mismatch (eg. IE 9 using iertutil.dll from IE 8). A reinstall of IE should fix this problem

Hello,

Regarding on your problem, User32.dll is a Dynamic-link library (DLL) that implements the Windows User API Client Library. It is a core file for several versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system and it is very important in any Windows Operating System. If this file is damaged or deleted, the operating system will not work. Ordinal 2000 is part of the dynamic link library or DLL in USER32.dll it usually refers to the module and code under USER32.dll.
My recommendation: Please check first the installer you have downloaded if it is compatible with your current operating system. Make sure that the program you want to install are supported with your OS to prevent this problem again.

Thanks
