Before today the deck was working great, but while instaling connections for a sub we ran into a problem. While i was trying to connect the remote wire from the amp i tested it to the battery, the blue remote connection but it didnt work. I then just tried splicing it inline to the power in the harness for the stereo but it simply touching those wires it turned the power to the head unit completely off and now it doesnt seem to want to turn on. the fuse is fine and we double checked any loose connections but thats not the problem. What could cause my unit to not turn on at all?
I have the same prob its the flat set of wirescoming out of the radio going to the panel where the face plate mounts its shorted out
When I hook up an amp I put the power wire to the battery, the ground to a suitable chasis ground, and the remote wire I hook up to a switched 12 volt in the fuse block. It's usually marked ign on the fuse block. If you have a test light you can see which one is hot when you turn the key on.As far as the radio not coming on there should be a fuse in line on the red wire and dont forget the one under dash also. Some radios have a reset button on them somewhere you might see if yours does.
