So I turned on my Compaq Presario V2000 PC, and its on and the lights are blinking, its just that I can't see anything. Anytime I hit any key it beeps. What is going on?
i am vijay. try removing battery n ac adapter n press power button n hold it for 1 min. later release thebutton n fix ac adapter n try turning it on. if this does not work. try reseating hard drive n memory chips in ur laptop. it should fix this.

just remove the ram and clean it and fix it again or you can try with connecting other monitor and make sure the laptop is booting properly only problem with screen.
when turning on the system go into the BIOS and reset back the seeting s to factory defaults and reboot the system .. If this fails then reseat the Hard drive may have come loose or ?
did you recently add new software ? drivers ? hardware?
Well oviously when you dropped it, it had done alot of damage. There is defenently something in there that needs replacement. I can't acctually see the inside of your laptop so i don't know what. Go see a computer pro.
Press F2 or Del key to get into Bois settings. Reset it to defaults by pressing F7 or look for the option on top of the window. F10 save & exit. See if it works.. otherwise try windows repair/reinstall

If your system won't turn on and get 2 beeping sounds. It is an issue with your memory (RAM) you may need to reseat the memory card. question.....does the motherboard you use support the powersource? that is one thing i would look into and have had problems with with many pc,laptops,etc. lemme know what happens
Try uninstalling the RAM memory for a minute or two and start the machine with no memory, then reinstall the memory and start again, it should boot right up.
