Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop,better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages,the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. You have had Win 7 for TWO YEARS? Hmmmm well anyway thats the problem. You see Win 7 and games don't MIX, the only way may help is to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, and Run & Install as Administrator.

Restoring your computer settings from factory. Everything on it will be gone. So again, make sure to backup the files. But in a case still nothing happens, then have to call Dell technical support for assistance. There would be a scenario that your audio device is working badly that needs to be replace which is the motherboard. Thank you.

Try booting to the Vista DVD< see if you can run the IMage Restore there. IF not, the manual install of Vista is required

my dell inspirion 1525 microphone is not working. when i am on yahoo messenger i hear the other person but they can't hear me unlike before i use to hear the othe person because there is an in built mic.

Hello.. The Sims collection does have some compatability issues with vista but EA has worked on it and actually it should run fine.May be any running process is conflicting with the game or you may have to update your Display drivers.
Also try using the compatability mode.Just right click on the game *.exe and select properties.then select the compatability tab and check the box "run in compatability with Win Xp[sp2]".

Sorry friend but this game is not compatible with Vista and there aren't any patches. However you can try your luck here. Go thru the thread http://www.theblitz.org/downloads/patches.php#cs

Also i suggest you to run the game with the Xp Sp2 Compatability option turned on.

Easiest way is to right click the desktop> click properties (or Personlise - in Vista)> then the settings tab (or Display Settings in Vista)>then advanced> then the adapter tab > you will then see a list of your graphic card,its memory and bios information.
