We turned the tv on and the images are the complete mirror of what it should be, what is currently airing in addition to the display image (channels, etc) of the tv. It is a SHARP flat screen.

Press the menu button twice. It should say System. Just press volume up untill the writing is facing the right way! Simple!

You Tube has video instructions for this but short version:

Lamp door has label on it--open the door (set unplugged) by removing a screw.

Lamp is secured by two allen bolts on these--back them out and grasp handle on the lamp unit or cartridge and pull it slowly out.

Rear camera to show on screen in reverse? panasonic cq-vd7001u

It sounds like you may not have it wired correctly. When the vehicle is reverse the cam works, but when you shift to any other gear IE: park, drive etc you go to black screen as if no signal. I had basically the same problem on my unit, different unit but...on the back of my unit there was a wire, you probably have the same, that said rear cam 12v dc.I assumed this meant any positive wire would do, but this is NOT the case. That wire must be hooked to the 12v positive reverse light. With my cam I had the wires from the cam hooked up, red to positive reverse light wire, black to ground and obviously video wire to the video in on the unit. but the problem arose with that rear cam 12v dc wire on the back of the unit. It NEEDS to be connected to the same 12v dc wire as the cam itself. This acts as a 'switch' when in reverse, IE: the reverse lights come on sending power to the wires to turn on the cam. When you're not in reverse the camera 'switches off' because the lights are not on, thus no power is being sent to the wires, thus returning the unit to its normal operating screen. This worked for me, hope it helps. Good Luck.

The screen images are in reverse

For clarification: You turn on your unit, the blue magellan logo appears clearly, but then the screen slowly starts turning white. Turning the unit off/on fixes the white but images are in reverse. CAUTION: It would help if you were grounded in some way prior to proceeding. Also, of course do this at your own risk. Make sure the cable going from the main board to the LCD is making a solid connection: 1. Take screws out of rear housing 2. Slightly seperate the rear/front housing 3. Disconnect the RF cable attached on the corner of the main board. 4. Pull off (or locate if they already fell off) 4 O rings from the screw mounts. 5. Fold over mainboard ontop of rear housing 6. Use fingernail or tweezers to lift up the plastic locking mechanism that attaches your LCD to the backside of your mainboard. 7. Pull out LCD cable, inspect for "gunk" on conacts (clean if necessary) 8. Shove cable back into slot on mainboard 9. Press down locking mechanism 10. fold mainboard back over 11. Put 4 O rings back on screw mounts 12. PLUG RF CABLE BACK IN! (signal will be zero if this doesn't happen) 13. Fit together front/back and screw back in.
