Panasonic ID-CODE Problem
Turn unit on with remote and open screen. You will be prompted to enter a code. If you don't know the code, you can use this overide to get your unit working again. As stated above (unit on; screen open; prompting code). In the lower right corner you have a 4-way toggle used to skip track, etc. Hold this firmly to the right for at least 10 seconds and the unit should reset the code. Do not let go until this happens. Remember hold it firmly! This will work! You will need the remote to get the code prompt!

BYPASS
The security device was created to avoid you from watching DVD's while driving. It is simple to bypass. Simply take the parking brake wire (blue/yellow stripe wire) and connect it to the a ground wire (all black wire). This will trick the DVD player into thinking that the car is in park with the parking brake on at all times.

Rear camera to show on screen in reverse? panasonic cq-vd7001u
It sounds like you may not have it wired correctly. When the vehicle is reverse the cam works, but when you shift to any other gear IE: park, drive etc you go to black screen as if no signal. I had basically the same problem on my unit, different unit but...on the back of my unit there was a wire, you probably have the same, that said rear cam 12v dc.I assumed this meant any positive wire would do, but this is NOT the case. That wire must be hooked to the 12v positive reverse light. With my cam I had the wires from the cam hooked up, red to positive reverse light wire, black to ground and obviously video wire to the video in on the unit. but the problem arose with that rear cam 12v dc wire on the back of the unit. It NEEDS to be connected to the same 12v dc wire as the cam itself. This acts as a 'switch' when in reverse, IE: the reverse lights come on sending power to the wires to turn on the cam. When you're not in reverse the camera 'switches off' because the lights are not on, thus no power is being sent to the wires, thus returning the unit to its normal operating screen. This worked for me, hope it helps. Good Luck.

Panasonic CQ-VD7001U
You need the remote control that goes with this DVD player to make it work it has two security devices. One you remote, you must push the power button on the remote the first time you use it. Two the security code, it is a four digit code that must be entered anytime that the device is installed into a different car. If it's code is not setup yet the code is 0000, otherwise you need to get the code from the person that installed it. There is no way to bypass the these two steps.
