HELP ME WITH THE STEPS TO SET MY PRECISION BORE GAUGE FOR MEASUREMENT

your machine shop would not ask that question.
a real overhaul (if measurements prove the case, all parts are MIKED)
1: measure bores. top/bottom and 90 degrees.
2: then bore and hone it to next oversize.
3: then new pistons and rings. and all new bearings

any thing, less is a DIY, trash build.
shade tree , hack.

there is one more way, if measurements warrant. IT.
light hone,.
new rings, std, size or what's there, now.
then keep old pistons if lands measure ok. (inspections here are many )

I guess you don't have the micrometer sets to do this right?
inside bore gauge. etc.?
what we do is take the block to a real machine shop
the mic it for a fee. (some do it for free)
then they tell you what is best, and is always the best answer.
why not let a pro rebuild your engine.
for max future life, not lowest cost and shortest life.

ask how to clean a block after honing
its not easy and must NOT BE SKIPPED.

The ring should be placed down in the cylinder bore squarely(use an inverted piston with only the bottom ring installed to get it even).Measure the gap in the ring with a set of feeler gauges.(an assembly manual should list the spec).It is important the gap is correct-too tight will cause the piston to seize in the bore when it reaches operating temperature.Too loose,and you will have excessive compression loss and oil consumption.A manual ring grinder is fairly inexpensive(if you can fabricate your own like I did,it is even cheaper).

.08mm or .003" max measured at the bottom of the skirt. A good fitting is using a feeler strip beside the piston and the bore and a spring balance gauge , it will need 7 lb pull on the gauge to remove the feeler strip. These measurements are for a parallel bore and not for worn bores as they will be tapered from the wear

Sounds like a bad battery contact, and when it looses voltage from the poor contact, it goes back to flashing lines.

The bore has to be measured at a number of places to see if it is out of round 0.01mm or tapered 0.05mm
You will need to take it to an engineering shop that can do the boring, they can measure the piston and bore to determine what oversize it will need.
with only light scratches probably 1 oversize 0.25mm, if it has been bored before the oversize is stamped on the top of the piston. 0.25, 0.50, 0.75
A rough measurement can be done with a feeler gauge, between the piston skirt and bore.
piston clearance for a 125 is about 0.055-0.060mm with a limit of 0.1mm

if it is piston slap,you will need pull the top off again and measure with a feeler gauge between the piston skirt and the sleeve, should only be a couple of thou

This problem may need to be escalated to a higher repair center a place like a precision measurement equipment lab. With it being a gauge I wouldnt recommend opening or doing anything to it since it is used to measure blood pressure.

If you take a tape measure and step from the wall at exactly 10 feet, you will be able to turn the calibration knob to the same exact distance. All other distances from that point on will be precise. Thank you, Dana
