Olevia 540 We've had this tv for about 20 months. No problems until yesterday. The picture seems to bleed over in to next frame; colors are way too saturated. No one had touched any controls - this just happened. My son says it's probably a "Crystal" and that it's not fixable - or cost prohibitive. I've never heard of a relatively new tv going this fast. Is it possible?

Picture rasterization

It sounds like the LCD controller board problem, usually if you cool it down the problem will go away, and comes back when it heats up again.

Works fine but turns off Sporadically

seems like the tv power supply is having some issues.. you might want to try leaving the television unplug over night.. and turn it on the next day .. if the tv still turns off by it self then try plug in the tv straight to the wall or try a power strip if the problem is still there.. then the television's power supply will have to be replace or repair..

There is a 3rd party repair center that is able to service Olevia televisions.. the service center is called Amergence Technology 866-965-3842 they could get you a repair quote..

Olevia 242T 42" LCD HDTV - Suddenly No Picture, Nothing Works

I heard they were restructuring their company or something.
There has been a change ownership from Syntax-Brillian to Olevia International Group.
Details of Olevia brand
Unfortunately for all of us (we have 747i) service seems very poor and the failure mode you describe doesn't give me any clues despite 40+ years of service experience.
Ours is still 100% but I now suspect our trouble will come.

Olevia 26" Flat Screen

I too had a similar problem with my 26" Olevia LCD TV, except it would flicker at different frequencies like a strobe light.  The flicker would even increase in speed, giving the visual illusion that the TV was about to blow up.  After several power-on, power-off, unplug, repeat, I was about to give up and think about looking for another TV. I saw your posts here and both of you "hit" the TV and it seemed to fix it, right?  Same here -- I gave the TV several good lateral "whacks" upon the outer edges of the unit!  The whacks weren't violent, just slightly "jarring" and after that, the TV stopped the flickering.  As you've said, it is quite juvenile to go beating on electronics, but interestingly enough, this method of "fixing" the electronics does at least seem to have an effect if done correctly.
I do also note that I went into the TV's menus and intentionally set the "Back Light" setting to "Dark" and "DNR" to "Low" to perhaps attempt to lesser drive the back light.  Since the beatings and then the much more rational idea of changing the menu options, the TV has worked, at least for a while now, relatively well.

Color line across the center of a black screen

Hi. this is caused by dry solder joints on the frame o/p IC. Resolder all legs of frame chip. Should sort that out.

Cannot Control Picture Settings?

First thing I would do is unplug the set for about 20 seconds then if you still had the problem, have it fixed by an authorized repair shop for that brand as it should still be in warranty.
