Anonymous Posted on Jan 13, 2010

3 yr. old Hoshizaki km630 mah, Had a hard freeze(24 degrees) at the shop and checked the ice maker that sits outside main bldg. Main water supply line inside that joins the copper pipe to the plastic fittings broke loose. After refitting the threaded plastic fitting to copper pipe and no apparant leaks. Now with the power on and water supply on, getting one beep every 3 to 5 seconds. Wash cycle works and plenty of water thru the lines, but when switched to ice and start getting the one beep every few seconds?

There should be a reset button on your control board inside the electrical compartment.

Turn the system on to ice mode and depress the reset button. This should clear out any and all faults stored in the board and the machine should at least attempt to come back to life.

Look on the outside of the electrical compartment cover. There should be an explanation of what your error code means. I can't remember it off the top of my head. But the list there will tell you what 1 beep every 305 seconds means and the procedures to take from there.

Testimonial: "yes, the reset button is there and reset didn't fix but also had all the directions on the panel to explain things.Ended up replacing circuit board."

Hoshizaki km - 280 mah ice maker not making enough ice

A few simple things to check is the condenser for dust. Blow it out. If their is a water filter going into the unit change it. Get some ice machine cleaner and follow directions. Do these things before calling anyone out.

Hoshizaki km-900mah ice maker won't start the freeze process

cycle is, fill cycle for 1 minute first. If there is not water entering the unit when first turned on, look for that issue. Water turned off, water valve not working or some restriction, clogged water filters, etc. That is got to happen first. Don't over look the bin stat being bad. Nothing happens if teh bin stat is bad. It sends voltage to the control board that runs the unit.

We have a hoshizaki ice machine 901mwh the ice cubs seems to be getting stuck in the evaporator area and pileing up on it self and freezing bake up

The main problem with Hoshizaki machines is if you are in a hard water area, if so do you have a good quality water filter, it may need changing. A quick way to check for calcium ot lime deposits in the machine is
1. Turn it off, run you clean hand around the area near the evaporator, are there any rough or flaky deposits there, if so you may need a chemical descale, contact a reputable fridge guy to do this for you.
2. The swinging arm motor may be faulty or possibly the ice sensor which controls the harvest cycle. If this is faulty sometimes the tray goes back up before the ice has slid off.
3. If the machine is situated in a cellar or other cool (less than 10 deg C / 50 deg f) this can sometimes affect the harvest cycle again to set this you need a tradesman.
4. Does the water flow properly over the lower part of the mould plate during a harvest cycle, the pipe can become blocked or dislodged.

Hope this is helpful

I have a side-by-side (MDL: 106.53552202). My ice maker has stopped working... I do get water from the door. The ice container is empty, the switch is turned ON.

there could be a blockage of frozen water in the fill tube of the ice maker.
if there is no blockage then the nex thig to check is the main water valve that supplies the water to the ice maker.
you can check the power from the main pcb board to the ice maker and make sure you have current to the ice maker
if all else fails replace the ice maker
i hope this has helped in some way good luck

Small production of ice? What should be the normal production of ice?

The way I understand how Hoshizaki machines work, the model number is usually what the unit will produce, in pounds of ice. Their manual states: "Approximate production/ 24 hours @ 70 degrees air/ 50 degrees water (incoming)" So, yours should be producing 450 pounds a day, approimately. Since I can not pin point your exact model, I found one that is close. It states: "Ice Production per cycle: 6.6 pounds, 360 pcs." Again, it is not you exact machine. Their web site does not show this model either. So this is the best info I can get for you. Hope this helps.
