Most likely you have had an lcd panel failure. The only way to tell for sure is either hook the laptop up to a tv or an external monitor, if the video chip is good it will send the signal to the external monitor and you can run the computer that way. If you do get a signal on the external, then you need to change out the lcd panel. As far as the dvd, you probably just cannot see that everything is working because the panel has failed.

My Vizio TV has a bar of colored lines running veritcally over the picture. Should I replace the T-Con board?

What causes vertical colored lines on a TV screen? When a TV is showing vertical colored lines, a loose wire cable in the TV might be the cause. If you knock on the back of the TV, the vertical colored lines MAY disappear temporarily. This is a sign that a cable is loose or the T-Con board is faulty.

I can not get any sound out of the speakers. There is 6 ports (all different colors) I have tried everything. I have had the speakers for a year now. I cleaned the computer and the speakers came unplugged...

first connect both the satallite speakers to line out which is located near to the power switch (speaker out)
Now vertically above these 2 connectors there will be another connector that says remote control (audio input) this is connector that gets connected to your PC.On your PC this should get connected to the green port named as line in.
connect the power cable to mains
switch on th power switch which is situated at the rear of the subwoofer. The power indicator light will be lit up with a blue light
Now adjust the speaker volumes and try to play music

Yellow line on left side of screen-

If this is only happening on one input like your cable input and the dvd player is working great on a different input, then the issue can possibly be signal related and not a problem with the tv, if this haapens on any input you are watching, check to see if it affects the menu if it does then your looking at a Logic board issue, if it doesn't affect the menu but happens on multiple inputs then you have to replace the signal board

Blue Vertical Line

It is sounding like when the laptop is turned on and heats up a bit, the line appears? Sounds like one of the panels is going bad or atleast has developed a problem. below are some tricks you can try to lessen the annoyance of the line. Dual-Scan STN displays are composed of 2 panels behind a single protective panel or screen. Because you are looking through the protective screen the display appears to be one large panel even though it is not. There is a physical separation line (gap) at the point where the two panels meet. When the computer is on and being viewed it is not unusual to see the visible separation line with the Dual-Scan STN displays. The line, actually the fine gap between the display panels, appears because the color and light pixels cannot run along the very outside edges of the panels. This line (gap) between the panels can be seen as a fine gray line and is most noticeable when viewing on a screen with a white or light background. Note the line may not be as noticeable when the screen is displaying certain colors or darker backgrounds. SUGGESTIONS: It is not possible to completely eliminate the line but there are some things you can try to reduce it's visibility. 1) Lower the display brightness/contrast. The brighter the backlight the more noticeable the line. 2) Use Wallpapers and Screen savers that use darker colors. 3) In the Control Panel/Display applet under appearance try different combinations of color schemes for your Window and Background choice Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
