You can go to the website: www.camerasandparts.com and get their email address. They can help you for sure. They only service canon cameras and they are wonderful for help with the canons. Pretty much the place for help with a broken powershot and they charge about half of what canon does. The work with them is superb.

An E16 is an error code on this camera that will cause it to turn on for a moment when you press the on / off button in camera mode but since the error is there, it will quickly turn right back off and the lens goes back in. When it happens on a G9 it's usually from a short in the camera. If you'd like to have it fixed, a really good site that would be able to help you would be www.camerasandparts.com They work on the Canon cameras exclusively and they are about half the cost of what Canon charges, plus they do top notch work on these models. Good luck with the problem, that's a really nice camera.

E16 Error code (on all canon compacts) means that there is something wrong with the lens mechanism and it cannot contract/extract/focus etc.

Canon suggests removing the battery, and leaving it out for about half an hour. Make sure that the battery is fully charged before reinstalling it.

Also if you have had the camera for over a year, the battery may need to be replaced.

If this does not work, the camera will need to be sent to Canon for repair.

Good Luck!

E16

That's probably some sort of error code your camera is displaying. I know the most common codes are E18 and E24 on canons, for the E16 try going to the following website and emailing them: www.camerasandparts.com They just work on the canons and I'm sure they've dealt with this problem before. If you end up needing to have it serviced, that site is wonderful and about half the cost of what canon charges, plus they do amazing work on these powershot cameras.

When I press the button to turn on my Canon G9 the lense extends and then immediately goes in and on the LCD it shows "E16" Any clue what that means?

You're going to have to get it serviced since it will likely need a part replaced. If you need service on one of these, I'd highly recommend: www.camerasandparts.com They exclusively work on the Canon Powershots only and they do amazing work. The best part with them is they are about half of what Canon charges and the service with them is excellent. They really know these cameras. Good luck with it

My Canon G9 review function does not work. It flashes the last picture taken only.

It is not the problem with the camera. When the last picture is displayed, you can turn the control dial (the vertical ring around the four-way directional buttons) or use the right and left arrows to navigate to the previous or next image.

Can I export photos from iPhoto back into the Canon G9 PowerShot?

No, you can't.
You only can transfer the pictures back to the camera if the pictures were taken by the same model cameras, plus the pictures were not modified.

I'm unable to download photos from the disk.

You may be saving the images in the RAW format, which requires matching software to read. Most kiosks can't read them. If this is the case, switch back to jpeg format.

Canon G9 has E16 error message-won't turn on

The likely has a short that is causing that E16 Error Code. Since it likely needs a part replaced, you can try this site: www.camerasandparts.com They'll fix any Powershot problem, these are the only models they work on. They are about half the price of Canon for Service and they do excellent work. They exclusively do the Canon Powershot cameras only, they're the guys if you need help with a problem on one of these cameras.

RAW images won't upload

Are you using the camera to upload the photos? I recommend that you get a SDHC reader(USB) and copy the files off of the SD card onto your harddrive. it is a common problem that RAW images cannot be read by windows or certain programs. Photoshop CS3 and later are able to read and open the RAW images from this camera if your "camera raw" portion of adobe is current. it is good practice anyway to load your photos directly from the SD card. I had a G9 since it first came out and now i have a G10--i have never even attempted to upload from the camera. don't let this discourage you from shooting RAW because it is the primary reason in my opinion for owning a G9 or G10. Let me know if this does not answer your problem...dj
