After driving for around 30 minutes, the brake

After driving Hundai 2004 Accent for around 30 minutes, the brake pedal travel changes to only about an inch (normally a few inches) and the front brakes get hot and smell, car power gets weaker. Goes away after resting car for around an hour, sometimes goes away while driving after the problem appears. Both front brake rotors are very hot and smell like burning brake pad. Brakes will stop the car when bad condition is observed, but brake pedal travel is only about an inch at that time.

That sounds like the "Porportioning valve" is defective.
You may want to go to your local library and check out a Chilton's, or some other repair manual for the "how to" to fix yourself or take it to a tech you can trust.

I had this problem on my 2004 accent! Here is what you do to fix it! Buy new rotors $75.00 and new pads (not that much) . Once you do that your problem is solved! Easy to do yourself!

Rolls Royce Shadow 1 brakes fade then come back after a few hours

Firstly you should change your brake fluid then bleed the brakes and check for leaks if the fluid is old it could get hot or boil through use and cause bubbles which will compress when you press the pedal but when it cools down again it will feel ā€œ normalā€ again

My break pedal goes to the floor

There are several causes for the brake pedal going to the floor:
- Broken seals in brake`s principal pump.
- Broken seals on rear brake's cylinder. (big lieak on wheel)
- Worn rear brake shoes, making seal travel out of cylinder. (big leak on wheel)
- Leak on tubings.
- Empty brake fluid deposit.

Hyundai accent 2004 shifter is locked and brake lights do not work

Automatic transmission, right? Likely cause is the brake pedal switch located on the brake pedal arm near the firewall. This switch controls an interlock solenoid, a safety feature, that will not allow the shifter to move unless the brake pedal is depressed. Another possibility is the brake relay located on the under-hood fuse panel. Good luck.

I have a red brake light turning on!

I think these cars have a sensor in the brake fluid reservoir to show if fluid's getting low, check the fluid level & top up if necessary, also if fluid's low, have a look for fluid leaks especially near reservoir & around wheel areas. If the brake pedal travels too far down this can also activate the brake fail light

Brake lights dont work

On some cars the bulb for the brake lights is separate than the tail lights. If not then check the fuse for the brake lights. It is typically separate from the tail lights. Also check for broken wires in the trunk area. These could be damaged from items in the trunk moving around.

Hundai Accent 1999, back lights ( brake) - they light constantly

Your vehicle's brake lamp switch is located on top of the brake pedal arm bracket. Most brake lamp switches can be adjusted if they cause the lamps to stay on, however sometimes a replacement of the switch is the only solution.

How do i change brake fluid in my 2004 Hundai Accent

1st check the easy things, that would be the brake fluid level. If it's low, the light will go on. Next check the emergency brake, if it's on slightly, the light can come on. Your fluid should be changed when u have a brake job done, the light wouldn't be on for that, only if there is a problem w/ the system. Check this out asap, as it can be unsafe to drive. If adding fluid to the proper level results in the light going out, make sure to check the level daily to make sure u don't have a leak in the system (and u can look under the car for signs of a leak-drips stains puddles). As your brakes wear down, it is normal to have to add fluid, but only a small amount maybe a couple of times between brake jobs. If u have the brakes done in the future, have them flush out the brake system. This is overlooked most of the time, and can result in problems down the road w/ corrosion of calipers and brake cylinders, which lead to premature wear on the brake pads and shoes. Let me know how u make out.
