SWFT71 Speed Queen Model # SWFT71Wn Installed new door latch and it won't let door release after running its cycle. Replaced all electrical plugs to switch and still same problem. Any other suggestions.

If your Speed Queen washing machine is stuck on a cycle, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check the power supply and make sure that the washing machine is properly plugged in and receiving power.
2. Check the fuse or circuit breaker to make sure that the washing machine is not tripping any electrical circuits.
3. Make sure that the washing machine is not paused or paused on a cycle that is longer than usual. If the machine is paused, simply press the start button to resume the cycle.
4. Make sure that the washing machine door is properly closed and latched. If the door is not properly closed, the machine may not start or may get stuck on a cycle.

Bad connection to power of the fill switch or not airtight to the hose on it.

Drive Belt
Inspect the drive belt to determine if it is broken or if it is loose on the pulleys. If the drive belt is broken or loose, replace it.

The door spring tension might be causing the door latch to become disengaged. Check the level of the dishwasher and also adjust door spring tension. Will need model number to provide more details.

I have not fixed any of these front loaders for a while, but the top cover should come off (usually with a key), which will give you access to the coin mechanism and timer. There you usually need a 5/16 wrench or a flat screwdriver to remove the screw at the top of the mechanism.

Door Spring If the microwave door won't open the door spring may have broken. The door spring is located inside the door and keeps downward pressure on the door hook.

Door Latch If the microwave door won't open the door latch might be broken. The door latch is inside the microwave. The door hook, which is part of the door, engages with the latch to keep the door closed during operation. If the door latch or actuator breaks the door may not open.

Door Hook If the microwave door won't open the door hook might not be releasing properly. The door hook is installed inside the door and normally releases when the door is opened. The hook is made of plastic and will break over time. When this happens it will need to be replaced, it can't be repaired.

Button Spring If the microwave door won't open the button spring might be broken internally. The button spring can be replaced.
Button If the microwave door won't open the button might be broken internally. The button can be replaced.

Handle Actuator If the microwave door won't open the handle actuator might be broken. This is a plastic part which can become brittle over time. This part is connected between the door button and the door latch assembly.

Two things to try. First cycle through the cycles a few times and see if it will unlock. If that doesn't work, then unplug the machine for a couple of minutes and try cycling through again. If that still doesn't work, then try pounding a little on the machine and rocking it to try and loosen the lock. If that still fails, then you will need to remove the outer paneling of the machine and get to the door/lock from the inside of the machine and get it unlocked.
