Hi I have a night store heater model 79168 in my new home and no idea how to use it!! Please help :)

Here is a good article for Dimplex, a storage heater manufacturer, that explains the the theory and how it works. I'm sure you will find it interesting. http://www.dimplex.com/storage_heaters#

Basically, thermal storage heaters heat ceramic bricks during off peak hours (during the night), store the heat to be used during peak hours (during the daylight hours), when electricity is more expensive per kilowatt hour.

Hope this helps you.

Hi, I don't know what the reset switch on my dimplex ofc2000ti looks like, anyone any ideas? Power to unit but not heating up, all connections inside fine. Hopefully it overloaded and tripped.

Turn the Master On/Off Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall receptacle. Leave it unplugged for 12 - 15 minutes. That should give it enough time to reset itself. Then plug it back in and give it a try. Also, make sure that the wall receptacle is working properly and hasn't tripped the circuit breaker in your home's circuit breaker panel. If it did, something is seriously wrong electrically, with the heater.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please don't forget to rate my response to your question.
Thanks!

Dimplex oil heater FR24. 2400W oil heater. shorts fuse box

I would suggest that the element may have absorbed some mloisture whilst being left in storage for a period of time. You may need to take it to a local repairer to see if they can dry out the element.

If there is moisture in the element it is not safe to use, hence it trips your circuit breaker.

Hi, Last night none of the Dimplex storage heaters in my home came on. I checked the fuse box and nothing has been trippped. They were working fine the night before and I cant think of any reason why they...

Hi,
It may be that the off peak to your house has failed to switch on, possibly due to the off peak time switch in your meter cupboard not working, I suggest you contact your local electricity board and ask them to check your off peak supply

My dimplex night storage heater has stopped working.

...not too sure of your model but all dimplex heaters to my knowledge have an 'overload' cut out built into the system. Ours is more up to date but still goes now and then, problem is you have to get into the electrics and click the reset button, normally near or on the thermostat it's self, could be a small white plastic button, or a piece metal sticking up that needs pressing down to reset...but please before attempting make sure that you TURN OFF THE ELECTRIC / REMOVE THE FUSE/ WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO CUT ANY CHANCE OF AN ELECTRIC SHOCK!!!...because I can and will get you if it can ;-)... if your not a competent electrician please get hold of one !... good luck.
