LCD Monitor Shadow Effect
This problem is best described as the LCD monitor "Shadow Effect".
The solution to this very simple. No software or hard ware changes required.
The cables that are connected to the LCD monitors are causing the problem. Its also called as electromagnetic noise or electrical noise.
Solution: Keep the two cables - (power cable and moitor display cable), that are connected to the LCD monitor as far away as possible with each other and also away from other electrical cables.
Thats it. Your shadow effect is fixed.
Thank you.

P191w acer monitor

That can be the soldering joint at the lamp assembly is bad. It will cause the inverter circuits to go into shutdown mode. You should also inspect the power supply caps also.

Acer P191W smears all objects

brianfh01, Hi, I'm louie12fix. Can't say we will be able to fix, but we can try some different things. Will P191W do same stuff if connected to different PC? Did it work (perform perfectly) one day, and then act like junk the next day? Did you check with ACER about warranty service?? Are you using this unit for business or home? Can you, or did you connect different monitor to the pc that the P191W was connected? I certainly would be trully ********** if a 4month old monitor didn't perform to specification. Did you buy it locally or online? If local, maybe the store will swap it out for you. Bye for now. Get back to me at louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @aim.com

I hooked up my new acer p191w to my dell laptop 1525.HELP!

Not sure what the problem is, but I would suggest pressing the Fn+F5? There is a function key that toggles from dual screen, just the laptop screen or just the monitor. Hope that helps..

G'luck
