Canon EOS 7D Mark II Digital SLR Camera. The language is only Japanese. English, how to change another language please?

Solution

Set the camera's power switch to <ON>.
Press the <MENU> button to display the menu screen.
Press the < > button and select the [ ] tab.
Turn the < > dial and select the [ ] tab.
Turn the < > dial to select [Language ], then press < >.
Turn the < > dial to select the language.

Canon 7d serial#1061707382 when was it made

You better ask this in a Canon certified service centre. They do have these details to check warranty claims. If the production date is less then the warranty period, they often don't check your invoice. The first 7D were on the market since 2009.

Error 30 how do I solve, have tried the recommended remove battery and photo chip with no success

Error code 30 refers to a detected shutter problem. The general advice is to turn the camera on then off, then on again and then remove and replace the battery. If that doesn't clear it then it may need a repair

I'd like to put Canon EOS 7D video to iPad?

Like the 5D Mark II the 7D shoots H.264 codec. This must be compressed to a smaller size for iPad syncing or converted to a friendly codec for iMovie.

For iPad,

1. Transfer .MOV files to your Mac via USB.

2. Use Canon MOV Compressor to slow the 60fps down to 24 using frame controls.

3. Sync converted movies to iPad via iTunes

For iMovie,

Just convert Canon 7D to AIC for iMovie editing. iMovie supported best video format is AIC Codec MOV format, you can edit video with this format in iMovie smoothly without rendering,

Canon 7D battery problems

I take it this is a non-Canon battery? If it does this with a Canon battery, then the board that senses the charge level is bad.

However, the 7D has a history of loose screws which will short out various circuit boards of the camera. [screws that hold the DC to DC power board]

My Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lense, when zoomed out to 17mm is faulty. Different errors on different bodies. EOS 400D body: error 99 "Shooting not possible. Turn power <OFF> and <ON>...

I read on a forum that you can reset the shutter by gently hitting the camera at the bottom with the heel of your hand. This does actually work for me whereas the removal of the battery etc. as advised by Canon didn't do anything.
I have had the problem for a few days now, occurring about once a day. These few days have been quite heavy shooting days, about 500 shots a day. It seems to happen more or less first thing in the morning and, once I have freed it by the method above, it behaves for the rest of the day. However I feel that it will probably get worse and fail altogether eventually so I am still looking for a better solution.

Per Canon, the error is as follows:

Err 30: A shutter malfunction has been
detected.

Canon's recommendation:
-Turn the power switch to <ON> to turn on the
power again.
-Remove and re-install the battery.
-Use a Canon lens.
-If the instructions above do not solve the
problem, please contact your nearest Canon
Service Center.

The irony to this is that I am now getting this error on my 7D as well. It is intermittent and I am able to clear it by pulling the battery, but it often returns in a shot or two. I suppose I will be calling Canon.
