Your keyboard MS 700 v2.0 needs a USB receiver to work. They are pert of set. You may also have a wireless mouse MS-700 that is also part of this set.
1. Do you have the receiver ? This has a USB connector that must plugged in to your PC's USB port
2. Are the batteries in your keyboard dead ? If so change them for fresh ones
Then proceed with the instructions in the Quick Start Guide which can be found from this webpage
Microsoft Hardware
Note the light on the receiver only flashes when you press the 'connect' button. At all other times it is normally out. There usually no lights on the keyboard. You should not need extra drivers as they part of the OS if you are using Windows XP or 7.

If you still have problems see
Your wireless mouse or keyboard does not respond or you receive The...
or search on the internet for our specific case

SOURCE: Wireless mouse and keyboard not working

If you have got a USB receiver for the wireless keyboard and mouse, then the solution might be with the receiver. Normally we know that to play a USB thumb drive, we simply plug in and play. But some model of Acer computer require us to press the button on the thumb drive to activate it. The model I had (an Aspire model) set the press button same as the blicking light bulb. So (a) turn on computer, (b) plug in thumb drive receiver (c) press button on the drive, (d) press "contact" button on the mouse and keyboard. That works for me.

Seems like new batteries did the trick. Should start simple.

But I am not totally convinced. I will keep an eye on it.

SOURCE: Hi I have a Microsoft

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Basically receivers are bundled with the mouse they have specific model of recievers. What i can suggest is you contact 1-877-696-7786 (Microsoft Store)f or a compatible model of nano reciever that will work witht the mouse and keyboard that you have so that you will not waste money on buying a reciever that will not work with your KBM.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I bought a Microsoft wireless key board and mouse Model 700. I have the keyboard working but the mouse won't work, what can I do?

Most wireless accessories have buttons so on them to sync one to the other. One on the mouse and one on the receiver.Try pressing these buttons at the same time. That should put you in business.
