no alarm works like that
if you have 3 to 5 blinking leds count them is your power supply module
first un plugg it for a minute or so now connect it
pushing power at the same time you connect and if you watch on the screen a big flash your tv is for servicing
if it works just great

Never a good sign when you have red flashing codes

4 times, Diagnosis: Vertical deflection stopped. Possible causes: +- 15V is not supplied. (D board), IC8003 is faulty. (A board) Symptoms of the problem: TV has entered standby state after horizontal raster, Vertical deflection pulse is stopped, Power line is shorted or power supply is stopped.

Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your tv power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement. Hope this will help...

my 42 inch phillips, i turn it on green light comes on for 10 sec then red light comes on and flashes 4 times then stops for 5 sec then repeats.

Most likely it has a power supply module problem. Have it looked at by a qualified service company.

It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.

5 red flashes on your Sony indicates the power supply for lamp is not working .Or 5 pin harness to it is not seated properly.Possibly needs replacement..
