Y DV-220KV-K, which is sold as a Multi Region DVD player has locked up on me. The following message comes onto the TV screen...

(Player's Region Setting)
<1> : Region
<2> : Region
<3> : Region
<4> : Region
<5> : Region
<6> : Region
Pick out any one of these!

The message remains on the screen ALL the time and I'm locked out of viewing anything. The remote is locked and so I cannot pick any of the region numbers!

How can I make a Pioneer DV-420V-K DVD Player Region Free?

Its generally not worth the bother, you would need to re-flash the programming and the data parameters. The Original Hard Coded ROM has to get un soldered, then replaced with a re-flashable memory. The Hardware is subject to static and any spark can destroy the driver board. It would be cheaper to load the DVDs on a Laptop that is configured for Region 0, and leave it for that purpose.

Need multi region hack code pioneer dv-220v-k

There is no need for region hack on this unit. It plays region free and all PAL dvd's out of the box without reprogram.

Remove any disc in the tray, Press the SETUP on the remote control. Move over
to GENERAL using the arrow keys; Select BASIC, Press DISPLAY - this will display
your region and firmware version. Press CONDITION/MEMORY (nothing is
displayed or changed on the screen). Press the REGION # required (i.e. 2 for
Region 2 etc). Press MENU to store.
