Gurus.. Answer me this..

Ok.. Lets get the shirts off and see what you guys know.. Item 1 HP DV1000 series.. (And yes are all the same under this generic 1K numeral).. No Power period.. No LED's No Action Notta.. /Gimme your input.. (I Know the answer by the way).. Item 2.. HP ZD8000 Series.. No Charge, Or the Infamous" LINE"S ON SCREEN PROBLEM.(or). Flashing battery LED on powerup no POST/BOOT.. (I Know the answer). Item 4 Toshiba P-20 series Multiple nightmares.. (I Know the answers).....(Maybe Dells 1150/5150/5160/ Inspiron6K Probs..??) Ive been here for a while guys.. Want to see about the ZX/ZV/R3000/ZD7000 series Hp'ackratss and Com"****"? I Know these issues as well... Good meeting by the way.. .. Ken

    Youre right on Dell as these are Notorious for RAM slot issues.. But also have other probs..Also was Not looking for info just want to see whos here...(Questions). ( ;) ) Battery and charge circuits also on Dell. (HP's/Toshibas Com****z). As well as the New Generation HP's/Compaqs w/ Advanced Adapters.. Fun stuff aint it? See you all in the loop..

Ken- I have read your work around the net already so I know you can handle the suggestions I give.

On the DV1000
try the 2 MOSFETS next to the power jacks. I think they are Anachip 4407 or Fairchild 4435
Then check the MAXIM 1999

- When plugging in the DC to the unit, check to see if you are getting a spark. If so you have a dead short across the NEG circuits, and will have to look real close around the DC jack.

I could use some tips on the DELL 11xx/51xx series charge circuits if you could...

Battery went dead siting too long barrow a battery and boot up and put in old battery to charge
dell only sees one of the two memory slots and you have to switch them to boot. bad soder joints

No sound card driver for HP dv1000 running on Windows 7

Hi thank you for using fixya. Here are the instructions to get your drivers:
1. go to www.hp.com 2. go to the support and drivers page 3. enter your model 4. you will get a list of drivers look for audio card. 5. if you can not find it there you need to find the brand of your motherboard and go to their manufacture website to look for the drivers there

Notes for charging Hp Pavilion dv1000 Series battery :
  1. You must fully drain the Hp Pavilion dv1000 Series battery until the laptop goes into hibernation for your first use it.
  2. Store it in a cool and dry area. Do not expose battery to water or other moist/ wet substances.
  3. Do not forget to take away your Hp pavilion dv1000 battery from the laptop if you will not use it for a long time.
  4. Know that after that plug in your charger and allow it charge for 12 hours or depending on what the technician has told you. 12 hours is the max and you can use it while charging .
  5. Charge new Hp Pavilion dv1000 Series battery for three times at first. After that it will take less than 2 hours to fully charge your Hp Pavilion dv1000 Series battery.
  6. It is normal for HP laptop battery to become warm during charging and discharging.

I want the replacement motherboard part number

The part number you posted on the FixYa site is correct for a replacement board. It is actually designed for the DV1300 series but will work iin many DV1000 series notebooks. If you get on E-Bay and put that part number in the search box, you will find many that are for sale and under 120 bucks. Good luck

Wireless Connectivity lost after installation of StartRight application software

Just a question .... Did it connect ok before you installed this new software?

If the answer is yes, uninstall the software, if still not connecting after that, restore your computer to before that software was installed.
