When I replaced the battery in my wifes' Movado, I discovered that replacing the back is dang near impossible by hand. I guess that is why jewelers in my area charge about $20 to do it, plus battery cost. Jewelers use a special tool called a watch press. I improvised with an Irwin clamp out of my workshop. Note that this clamp has rubber padded jaws, which help protect the watch. I centered the back carefully, and tightened the clamp slowly, and after a bit she popped right in. If you are not comfortable doing this, just pay a jeweler to do the job, because you can ruin an expensive watch if you are not very careful.
You may need to have a local jeweler who has a watch press to put it back on, If you put to much pressure on the inside of the back, it may be warped. A knowledgeable jeweler should be able to fix that issue also.

Wittnauer and Bulova are better watches, usually sold at better jewlery stores. Perhaps you can get more information from a better jewler in your city.
Your watch is fitted with EOL feature and let you know about insufficient battery power by moving seconds hand by 2-5-second increments.
You have about two weeks time to change the battery from the EOL engagement or your watch will start to malfunction or even stop.
In this case you will have to reset your watch after battery replacement.
EOL = End Of Life (relates to battery only).
Jumping seconds hand means it's time to change battery.

I would suggest that we follow the jeweler advise, unless he/she is lazy or not really a master, then their advise is critical.
Rather than breaking into home repair that can end in home destruction, contact the manufacturer and see what services they offer. One way or another you will be taken care of....
Ahh, you have one of those watches that have a long battery life. This watch has a lithium iodine battery, which power pace makers. Here's the name of it:
Wittnauer Longlife 6600 mens watch stainless steel watch.
