I have a Jenn Air slide in range/oven. The oven will not turn on. When I press button and set temperature the control panel light flips to prebake and nothing happens from that point on.
Clock/temperature display is very dim. Also the oven only works every few days; when it doesn't work it will heat up to about 250 then not turn on again to maintain heat. I have a Jenn-Air D156 Electric Range; When you push the button to select "Convection Bake." or "Bake," the fan will come on and the oven temperature reading shows up, as though everything is OK, but after a few minutes it all shuts down. After repeated tries, I finally got it to go by selecting "Broil" then switching it over to "Bake," after the temperature finally began to rise. A few months ago, this problem only showed up on rare occasions, but now it seems that it is every time we use the oven. My guess is that the oven timer has been inadvertently activated. The CANCEL pad is supported to cancel settings other than the clock timer. Just pressing it might be the solution.
You see it identified page 10 of the manual. Page 11 refers to such a cancelation.
Sounds like the broil relay on your ERC (electronic range control) / clock is stuck. Until it's replaced the only way to keep it off would be to cut power to the range.

HI thanks for your question. A common problem with gas ovens is that the oven will not get hot enough. and the part that's at fault is the ig niter. replace the ig niter. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks.
Usually you need to turn the temperature to broiling (high), some require the door to be open about 2 inches (assuming yours has a detent (hold) there.)
