If you have sound but no picture, there are two place to look, one is the backlight inverter board (hard to get to), second is the main power supply module, look for blown fuse, burnt parts, bad capacitors.

The power supply connector should have voltage rating printed on the board by the connector. If you are going to work on the TV I would suggest to plug it into GFCI outlet.

LCD TV IS CONNECTED TO CABLE USING SATELITE. CABLE IS RUN APPROX 150 FT FROM SAT DISH TO TV. RECEPTION IS VERY GRAINY,,,IS IT THE LENGTH OF CABLE? THE CABLE IS 100FT CONNECTED TO 50FT CONNECTED TO TV....

Is the satellite receiver HD or standard?
If it is standard you should hook up the box to the tv via RCA cables (Yellow/Red/White) and this will help with the picture quality.

If it is a HD receiver then hook up the box to the tv using a component video cable and this will drastically change the quality of the picture.

Using a coax cable to attach from the box to the tv essentially is connecting an analog signal to the tv and this will produce a lower quality picture...

Good Luck!!

Half of screen is green, split down the middle with the other side remaining normal. We have a Wii. HELP! Bought it at Circuit City, and they are gone...........

I never repair Vizio but I am sure this is the cause if this occurs on all video sources; WiI, TV tuner, etc.

LCD panel has 2 flat cables attached to the glass OR the board that attaches to the glass.

remove and reinsert this cable. Just know that if you open the TV you will probably see these cable easily....they will be at the upper middle portion of the back of the TV(inside of course)

There is 1 cable for the left side of the picture and another cable for the right. If the right becomes loose it affect right side of pictur and left cable left side.

Toshiba 32'" tv wont give sharp picture

no rocket science here - my son fiddled with the cable cord attachment, until presto, the screen became sharp. Then we moved away as fast as possible, lest we shifted it and it put us back at square one.!!

No picture

It's likely the Ssb is out, Philips p/n# 319801634710 which on a difficult scale of 1-10 is about a 6 or 7 for repairs. That is a DPTV310 chassis and somewhat tight quarters inside. It's not so bad taking the strappings loose to get at the board but a tight area to work through getting the standup board unplugged from the signal board. One noteable caution: unplug the set for at least 10 minutes before opening the back VERY STATIC SENSITIVE..

Poor reception

It sounds like a problem with the tuner in the TV set. Hook up a VCR through the video inputs and hook the cable through the VCR and if the picture is still snowy, the problem is the cable. If the picture is clear, the problem is the tuner in the TV set. If you wanted, you could simply leave the VCR attached to the TV set and change cable channels through the VCR, or have the TV serviced. Good Luck
