Hi. Seems like your player may be encountering some corruption. Try this and see if it would help: Switch your Sansa E250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E250 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E250 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E250 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E250 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E250 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. Let me know if this helped :)

This MIGHT fix the problem: Make sure that Windows Explorer is set to show hidden files and folders. In Windows XP, click TOOLS, FOLDER OPTIONS, VIEW and make sure you have selected "Show hidden files and folders".

Turn the player off before you plug it in and if it doesn't find it then turn it on while plug in.

Different mp3 player, exact same scenario. Just calibrated it (Nike+) yesterday (Jan 9th) and now it won't turn on or charge, etc.
It says "connected" but it refuses to charge! Someone please Help!
plugs in but screen is black... the blue circle lights up but doesnt charge.. screen it blank and shows its not plugged in
player will not turn on
my mp3 keep saying battery is too low system shutdown
I am having the same problem, was playing fine on the way to work today, tried to charge it about ten minutes ago and now nothing will not turn on computer doesn't recognize that it's attached.
Just as I am typing this and holding power button for at least a minute and nothing was happening, I released the power button then waited about five seconds and pressed it again voila the unit powered up, not at the spot I last left it playing but it has returned to life.
I've just plugged it into my computer and it has some response, and is recognized by the computer.
Thanks :)
was listing to songs in car when it was finnished with album it turned off never to come on again, pluged it in to my computer it does nothing!
I held it for 5 minutes and let go like it sead & it works now
Had the same problem, player turned off after low charge, then it wouldn't turn on and showed no reaction when connecting it to my PC. As described here I held the power button for one minute, then was able to turn it on normally and charge it via PC connection.
My Sansa mp3 will turn on and the screen says, "SanDisk" and it flashes, and then after about a second the whole thing goes white and it repeats the process, over and over again.
This means I can't use at all, and the only ways to turn it off are to put it on Hold so it says "Keys Locked: System Shutdown" or to take out the battery.
Can someone help me? Otherwise I think I'll have to buy an iPod. Ehhh.
why is it that when i turn on my sansa mp3 player the screen is black?
the mp3 wont turn on after i already chrged it

After plugging my mp3 into the computer the light under the usb begin to flash and now it won't come back on.
I just had the same problem. I used the suggestion above. Hold the power switch for about a minute, let go and then push the power switch again. It turned back on. I just turned it off and on again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I've had this player for about a week and loved it so far but I'm not crazy about this glitch.
I have the same problem. It was working. I put a ton of music on it. Now I only get the blue ring. It was stuck on the blue ring for most of a day. I cannot get it to come on at all now.
I have a 2 gb Sansa Mp3 player I found it with the ring around the control pad was on but nothing else. I went to plug into my computer and it heated up quickly, and the screen that normally has the charging light on was blank. what is wrong is it toast or what if so I need to know
Darned things wont charge. Got 2 for my kids for chrismas. Tried the minite thing, dos'nt work for charging...
I plugged it in to charge, it started to play music while charging so i turned it off. Itwont come on now, wont charge and the computer doesnt recognize when its plugged in. I am pissed cuz i just bought this thing two months ago.

Mine no longer recognized by my computer so I can not charge it. It's been a big waste of money ever since I got it. I'm back to using my old Sony walkman.
