GE WDSR2080D top load washer is leaking small amount from the bottom of the machine during wash cycle? I took the back of the machine off and the pump and motor assembly had broken off from the steel mounting bracket but the connections to the discharge hose appeared to still be attached properly? I also found a wet children's sock when I removed sheet-metal to get at the back of the machine. Any advice would be great, thanks!

the purpose of that tube so it anywater that comes out of it goes through it and directs the water down the back and away from the motor. Now the bigger issue is why is water coming through that tube.What i suspect the reason of that is that the transmission is defective and the break is that internal to the transmission is slipping so the inner tub turns during the wash cycle force water up the side of the tub into that tube.during the agitate cycle the tub is not suppose to move at all and stay locked into place,but instead its moving where the water is forced up by centrifical force too and out the top of the tub cover,if it leaks with only a small water load it will leak worse with a large water load. if this is what is happening and the tub is rotating on agaitate cycle teh fix for that is to replace transmission which in most cases cost as much as replacing the washer would be

My Maytag Ensignia washing machine leaks large amounts of water when filling and during spin cylce. What could be wrong?

Should be able to remove front while it's standing in place. If there's not two screws on the front bottom, it will have two push clips about a third of the way in on either side between top and front. Push in gently with a standard screwdriver on the clip while tugging on top corner of front.

thats because ge is making garbage he should give you a refund but he wont put it out on the curb and get you a whirlpool its not worth fixing

You need to check to see if the pressure tube and switch are ok this is how the machine detects it;s water level. Eg the tube may have just popped off or there could be a hole in the Pressure tube. Any questions feel free to ask Cheers

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim
