I believe I have a Standard Definition TV (SDTV)
The basic digital television format closest in quality to traditional analog TV., and would not need Converter, but have found Orion Customer Support email and have asked them just to make sure..and have gone ahead and ordered coupons for converter just in case.

This TV has integrated digital tuner meaning you can view digital broadcasting without extra box. You can have bold text for hearing impaired. Standard sleep timer. V-Chip let's you control what you will allow your children to watch. Stereo sound when available. Language modes are English, French and Spanish.

I have an SDTV with built-in digital tune and analog. But when I choose to go into digital mode, most of the stations say "too weak of signal" and I can't get anything for any amount of time. Do I need a converter box? I know I have thick walls in the house but my antenna is by the window. Please help.
    Thanks

If it was purchased back in 2003 chances are that it is not digital TV ready and you would need to purchase a converter box.

We have a 22" samsung

Hello idmcintyre,
Don't worry, all you need to do is get a digital converter box. You can get one at most electronic stores, especially the ones that sell TV's. Remember that you still need your antenna. Your antenna needs to hook up to the converter box, and then the converter box needs to be connected to your TV. The converter box just changes the signal. I hope this helps, give me a feedback if it doesn't. Good luck.

Do i need a converter box for my rca true flat 27 in? if not how do i connect a digatal antenna i have lost my manual

Your TV will require a Digital Converter Box to recieve over the air Digital Television Signals. You will need to hook up the antenna to the converter box and then hook your converter box to the TV. Hooking your television directly to a digital antenna will not get you Digital signals...only analog signals.

I have a orion stv2763a tv I want to now if I need a convert box? I no longer have cable and wanted to know will I need a box.

It depends on where the towers are and how strong of a signal you have in your area. You can find this information by going to the FCC's website. Even when you get the box most of the time you need to buy an antenna at your local radio shack or electronics store the good ones are like $30.00 or more so it can get spendy doing this.

I want to know if my Zeineth TV #B32A24Z is analog or digital

This is a Analog set. If you use an Indoor antenna or Outside antenna you will need a converter box. If you are on cable you won't need a box.

Orion and TV Converter box

Most converter boxes will hook up to your tv if it has an antenna jack. I'm guessing the list you were looking at was a list of converter boxes that could be purchased with the governments coupons, not a list of tv's. I hope this is helpful to you. Make sure the converter box you buy has coaxial out to tv jack(it will look like the ant in jack).

Is this TV digital ready, or do we need a converter box?

No, it is not a digital ready television. You will need a box if you are planning on using an antenna with it.

If you have it hooked up to cable or a satilite reciever then you don't need a box. It will continue to work like it is now.

Hdtv converter box to vcr

Hi Drtrippy,

If I understand correctly, you are using your VCR for the actual tuning of the TV.

The converter box itself contains a tuner, so you should now receive extra channels available only to an HD tuner. You should try connecting your antenna as input to the converter box. Then output the signal from your converter box to the VCR. Your VCR may then remain connected to your projector.

You may simply think of this as if you are inserting the converter box between your antenna and your VCR, which should be currently connected to receive an over-the-air signal. Remember, as the tuner you will be using is in the converter box, you will need to change channels using the converter box, not the VCR.

Thank you,
Jason,

Have a problem

Currently, your switch box likely has several inputs, which as you said are occupied by your DVD Player, XBOX, and your television source. The output of the switch is then fed to your TV.

What you will need to do is insert the DTV converter box BEFORE the switch box. If you have an analog antenna on your TV (rabbit ears) you will need to put the converter box between your antenna and the switch box (the cables, not the box itself) so that your wiring goes like this:

Antenna ---- converter box ---- Switch box
XBOX ---------------------------------switch box
DVD -----------------------------------switch box

And the switch box still goes to the TV. However, you do not NEED to use the converter box until February of 2009.
