I have a Honeywell House humidifier HE 225A-1006.

I have a Honeywell House humidifier HE 225A-1006. As soon as the heat turns on water begins flowing through the filter even though I have the humidistat turned to off. If I turn the humidtsta toabout 55% I hear a click and if I bring the humidistat to off it does not matter the water continues to flow. If heat is truned off the water stops flowing. Could this be a bad solenoid valve. Part # 32001639-002.

Turning the heat on immediately causes the water to start flowing again. Its as if the solenoid is stuck in the open position and allows water to flow as soon as the heat is truned on. It worked good fro 2 years until I started it up this season.

In order of probability:
1) (incorrect wiring) Make sure that humidistat is in SERIES wired with the furnace.
2) (shorted wires) Check that two wires to humidistat are not touching...use your glasses if you need them!
3) (bad humidistat) disconnect the humidistat and put an ohmmeter accoss the two terminals when it is turned on you should read 0 ohms, and when off it should read infinate ohms, if not pass both these tests, you need new humidistat.
That is it, there are no other possibilites!

High-pitched noise from Honeywell Humidifier

Sounds like the high pitched noise is coming from the solenoid valve which allows water to enter the humidifier. Typically when the water pressure is too high, it causes this high pitched sound at the solenoid valve. You can adjust the water pressure a little at a time and see if it helps, just make sure you’re getting enough water across the water panel.

I have a whole house Honeywell E365 humidifier which is constantly flowing water to the pad, even when the heat is not on. What could be the cause ?

Hello, the most common reason this happens is because the solenoid valve is bad and remains open allowing water to flow continously regardless if the furnace is on or off. I assume you have either a sail switch or current sensing relay energizing the humidifier when the heat is on, if not thats another reason it would run continously.

Hi,
You can turn the blower on so that the humidifier will run more... there should be a manual on detting on your t-stat that will run the blower constantly. The humdifier should be wired to go on withthe blower.
The other option would be to install a stem humidifier which will produce more humidity faster...

Too much water running through to humidifier

With the Honeywell he220, you will use alot of water, trying to turn down the water will only reduce your amount of humidity in the home, you may be able to adjust it a little but you need to take the cover off and reduce the water flow a little at a time watching the water as it flows across the pad, you just have to make sure the humidifier pad is getting plenty of water across it, to little and you lose your humidification, hope that was helpful to ya, thanks for your question,
